EMMA WILLIAMS

Emma is thrilled to be back directing for Bath Spa Productions, having previously directed Shoot Get Treasure Repeat at the Ustinov. She is a writer and director based in the South West. Recent productions include Muppet Die Hard (Wardrobe Theatre), Big Boys Don’t Cry (Opposable Thumb Theatre), The Castle Builder (Vic Llewellyn), Noisy Neighbours (Kid carpet / the egg), Pinocchio (Gloucester Guildhall) and The Lost Present Department (Tobacco Factory Theatres). Her next production will be The Eavesdropper, a co-production with Opposable Thumb Theatre and Nordland Visual Theatre on the Lofoten Islands Norway.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR’S NOTES

JACKY CROSHER

Jacky Crosher has been a circus theatre creative for more than 20 years. Originally she trained at Fooltime, National Centre for Circus Arts (NCCA), Palacy’s school and with Phillipe Gaulier specialising in aerial theatre performance. She has worked with numerous companies and individuals such as No Fit State Circus, Skinning the Cat, Pirates of The Carabiner, Cirque Bijou, Firenze Guidi, Welfare International and has toured throughout Europe and beyond.

Alongside this Jacky has been a programme leader at the two main UK circus schools: NCCA and Circomedia, specialising in aerial and the development of new educational programmes. She has also taught courses UK wide, to a diverse variety of groups. She runs ‘Hinged Theatre Company’ which mixes physical theatre, circus and puppetry to create dynamic shows for families.

In 2021 Jacky completed an MA in Directing Theatre at Bath Spa University with Distinction. There she co-founded ‘Fire and Air Theatre’to create unusual twists on classic plays.

Recent projects are: Director, producer- ‘A Moving Grove’ - Fire and Air theatre (S.W touring). Director- BA ensemble show ‘Shards of Light’ for NCCA (Jacksons Lane). Writer, director- ‘Space Where Pictures Have Been’ – a new darkly comic, murder mystery. Director‘Who’s the Witch’ a verbatim community project about trolling and witch-hunts in development. www.jackycrosher.com

VIC LLEWELLYN

Vic is delighted to have had this opportunity to write The Cornershop Goblin for Bath Spa Productions. Previous writing credits include, Boys don’t cry for Opposable Thumb Theatre, Epic Fail for Kid Carpet, Dream Home for Wassail Theatre, Pinnochio for Gloucester Guildhall and Rust for Green Ginger. Vic is also a theatre maker performing his own work Internationally and in the U.K. This includes The Castle Builder, and A Little Death.

He has performed at the Bristol Old Vic, The Royal Court, The National Theatre, Improbable, English National Opera, New York Metropolitan Opera.

He is soon to be appearing with Olivier winning theatre company Little Bulb with the Bristol Old Vic Christmas show, Four Seasons and touring with their show Mountain Music. www.vicllewellyn.co.uk

ACTOR’S BIOGRAPHIES

Philippa Thomas JUNE, COURTIER 2, KITCHEN MAID/SCIENTIST

Philippa is an actor in her final year of training at Bath Spa University. Theatre credits include Cassius in Julius Caesar, Sherrie in Rock of Ages and has been a supporting artist in a variety of TV and Film. Philippa will be debuting her first film, as director, producer and writer, One Really Long Day at Sparkfest 2023.

Charley Bryson

DELIVERY BOY, COURTIER 3, THE NIGHTINGALE, THE UGLY DUCKLING

Charley is an actor from Bristol in her final year of the BA (Hons) Acting course at Bath Spa University. Her credits while training include Brutus in Julius Caesar, Carla in The Wasp, and Cathy in a radio drama adaptation of DNA. Charley also debuted her one woman play Sixteen as part of Sparkfest this year, which was written and performed by herself. Charley has gained experience in skills such as directing, devising, writing and acting for microphone during her time on the course, and hopes to develop these skills further in her career.

Bryanee Moss HELEN, DODGER

Bryanee is a third year BA acting student from Oxford, studying at Bath Spa University. Her credits include roles such as Tanya in a devised sitcom titled Hot Water, Jackie in I don’t want to be Yoko Ono and multiple directing/ writing features in shows.

Christopher Forrest MAN IN SHOP, EMPEROR, DEATH, DUCKLINGS

Chris is in third year BA acting. He is from Preston Lancashire studying at Bath Spa University. His credits include such roles as Morgan from Chasing Whiskey, a show which he co-created and performed at both Elevate and Sparkfest Festival. He also played Mr Toad in Wind In The Willows and Paul in Building Madness.

Locryn Gadd

MEMPHIS, DR. KNIFE, CHORUS

Locryn has come a long way from having a phobia of puppets. He is now loving every second of puppeteering and in his 3rd year of his BA Acting degree, he discovered a passion that he never would have guessed he had. Previous credits include: Nicky in Avenue Q, Lovborg in Hedda Gabler, Richard in Richard III, alongside multiple devised pieces such as Leslie in Chasing Whiskey and Leaf in a sitcom called Backup Plan.

András Gönczöl COLIN, COURTIER 1, CHORUS

András is a Swedish-Hungarian actor, deviser and aspiring writer currently in his final year at Bath Spa University. His stage credits include: Trigorin in ‘The Seagull’ (2020), Torvald in ‘A Doll’s House’ (2021), Richard in ‘Richard III’ (2021), Tadge in ‘Penetrator’ (2022), multiple characters in ‘[BLANK]’ (2022), Ray in ‘Clifftop’ (2022), Max in ‘Building Madness’ (2022), ‘B’ in ‘An Intervention’ (2023), Harry in ‘The Cormorant’ (2023), and Jesper in ‘Chasing Whiskey’ (2023). He made his on-screen debut in 2023 when he starred as Diedrick in the sitcom ‘Backup Plan’. After graduation, András wishes to continue devising original work with his theatre company ‘Where’s ME?’

Kaia Doig

Kaia is an actor/director from the New Forest. Her credits whilst training include: Bev in new sitcom Hot Water, which she co-created, Brutus in Julius Caesar and Carla in The Wasp. Kaia has recently set up her own theatre company Bintworks, with her friend Lia Parry. Together they put on original play Common Passage, Kaia’s directorial debut.

GLORIA, QUEEN, WOODY

Gloria is Swedish actor and devisor who started her training at Bath Spa University in 2020. Since then, her theatre credits include Lady Anne in Richard III, Carla in The Wasp. She also played the role Esmeralda in the sitcom Back Up Plan which she cowrote, and Ella in Chasing Whiskey - a show her and her theatre company ‘Where’s Me?’ devised, wrote and performed together at Sparkfest.

Matthew Smith - STAGE MANAGER

Matthew is a third year TFEP student specialising in Stage Management. This is Matthew’s first time being a Stage Manager for a Bath Spa Production. He has found it a challenging, but thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Matthew’s previous work includes: The Glove Thief (2023) Deputy Stage Manager, Christmas at Newton Park (2022) Lighting Designer, Rats Tales (2022) Assistant Stage Manager, The Government Inspector (2022) Assistant Construction, Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat (2022) Assistant LX and Programmer. Alongside working with Bath Spa Productions, Matthew has also worked within the Theatre Royal Bath: Into The Woods (2022) and Crazy For You (2022), Stage Crew.

Charlotte Tuck - SOUND DESIGNER

Charlotte is in her third year of TFEP specialising in Sound and Stage Management. Charlotte’s Previous work includes: Beast and Beauties (2021) Assistant Stage Manager, Shoot/get Treasure/Repeat (2022) Sound Operator/Assistant, Third Space (2022) Sound Designer, A Monster Calls (2022) Assistant Stage Manager, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2023) Deputy Stage Manager, Glove Thief (2023) Sound Designer. As well as working on the Bath Spa Productions, Charlotte carried out a placement with the Watermill Theatres youth company: A Monster Calls (2022) Assistant Stage Manager. Kannika Burgess - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Kannika is a second-year student studying Theatre, Festival and Events Production, specialising in Costume and production management. The Corner Shop Goblin is her third Production With Bath Spa Productions. This is Kannika’s first Assistant Production Manager Role. She has loved working on this show and the new skills that she has developed from this role.

Recent Credits Include: Costume Assistant for Christmas At Newton Park (Newton Park Main House), Costume Assistant for The Glove Thief (Ustinov Theatre) Alongside working with Bath Spa Productions, Kannika has also worked within: The James Haskell Show (The Forum 2022), illegal Eagles (The Forum 2022)

Rachael O’Connell - DEPUTY STAGE MANAGER

Rachael is a third year Theatre, Festival and Event Production student specialising in Production and Stage Management. Rachael has loved this opportunity to work with Emma Williams again on this wonderful show. She has previously worked with Bath Spa Productions as an ASM for Shoot/ Get Treasure/Repeat, directed by Emma Williams, ASM for Bucket Club’s Five Children and It directed by Nel Crouch, Production Office Assistant at Arcadia Stage Glastonbury and most recently this year she was, Deputy Production Manager for Habeas Corpus directed by Feargus Dunlop and Stage Manager for The Glove Thief directed by Ed Viney. Bryony Harrison Pettit

Bryony Harrison Pettit is a third year student at BathSpa University, studying Theatre Festival and Events Production. The Cornershop Goblin has been a brilliant ending role for Bryony as Costume Supervisor. She thanks her amazing team that have been a joy to work with, as well as her friend from home David Stringer that helped her for a day at the beginning of the rehearsal period. Bryony’s previous Credits include: Habeas Corpus, Deputy Stage Manager (2023) Costume Placement Role for Oxford Playhouse Panto Cinderella (2022), Rats Tales, Assistant Stage Manager (2022), The Government Inspector, Costume Assistant (2022). She has also volunteered with Bath Carnival as a Creative Artist.

Thornley Thomas-Atkin - LIGHTING DESIGNER

Thornley is a Third year Theatre, Festival and Event Production with a focus on lighting, Construction and Props making. This is Thornley’s second lighting design role at Bath Spa and is excited to work with Emma. Thornley has enjoyed doing another Lighting Design for Bath Spa production with the availability to improve his lighting capability and finish his final year on an amazing production. He is also thankful for his amazing lighting crew for working so well throughout the process. With previous work on ‘Beasts and Beauties’ as the Lighting Designer at the Mission theatre and ‘Habeas Corpus’ as Head of Set Construction at the Rondo. Em Noon - COSTUME DESIGNER

Em is a third year Theatre, Festival and Event Production student, specialising in scenography and costume. This is their first time working as a costume designer and they have enjoyed the process thoroughly. Recent credits include Chief Prop Maker for The Glove Thief (Ustinov Studio), Scenic Designer for Habeas Corpus (Rondo Theatre) and dresser for Noises Off (Theatre Royal Bath). In 2022 Em completed a semester abroad at Columbia College Chicago, USA, during which they worked as a wig designer on Head over Heels (Courtyard Theatre).
