DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY

Ed is delighted to be back directing with Bath Spa Productions, having previously directed Skunk at the Ustinov. He is a former Assistant Director at the RSC, Creative Associate at the Bush, and Resident Director at the NT Studio. Productions as director include: The Red Lion (Bristol Old Vic), Wind in the Willows (Calf2Cow/Bath Garden Theatre Festival), and Stalin’s Daughter (Tobacco Factory Theatres).

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY

Gareth Rodd is a theatre creative based in the south west of England. He has recently graduated in a BA Acting degree at Plymouth Conservatoire. He is now currently studying for his MA Directing degree at Bath Spa University. On the side of his studies, he is a Director, Producer, Playwright and Actor.

His most recent credits; Assistant Director ‘Christmas at Newton Park’ (Bath Spa Productions, 2022), Assistant Producer ‘Orlando’ (Jermyn Street Theatre, 2022), Directed two original pieces ‘How Lovely’ and ‘Look at Me’ (Absurd Company, both 2021). ‘How Lovely’ went on to win a regional writing award which was published on ‘Write on Magazine’ in mid 2022.

Gareth is currently working on a new script he’s co-written called ‘Already Torn’ and will be shown at SparkFest in Bath come May 2023.

ACTORS BIOGRAPHIES

Imogen Devey / ELIZABETH 1

Imogen is an actor in her final year at BSU. Her credits whilst training include Bawd in Pericles, the doctor in People, Places and Things, and Thea in Hedda Gabler. Imogen is continuing her training to be a motion capture performer at Performance Captured Academy and has begun her career working with Mocap Masters on an animated TV pilot.

Rhys Myhill / BISHOP OF ROSS

Rhys is an actor, director, and writer in his last year of training at Bath Spa University. He has previously trained at the National Youth Theatre and recently completed a tour with Greedy Pig Theatre Company’s Peacock, in which Rhys was understudy and assistant director. Rhys looks forward to performing in The Wrong Pod at this year’s Sparkfest and making his professional acting debut in Spoil Me at the Rondo Theatre in July.

Emma has trained in musical theatre at Stagecoach Performing Arts School gaining stage credits of Deb in Elf Jr the Musical, Jack in Into the Woods and becoming a world record holder playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast Jr in the largest simultaneous performance of one show. Whilst training at Bath Spa University her credits include Mrs Elvsted in Hedda Gabler, Olga in Three Sisters and Ms Lawson in Care Takers. Emma is now teaching at Stagecoach whilst finishing her final year at Bath Spa!

Mollie Biddlecombe / ROSE 1

Mollie is an actor and training dramaturg in her final year at BSU. Her credits whilst training include: Duncan in Party, Punka at BOOMTOWN FESTIVAL, Rita in Get A Life, The French Lady in Help! We’re Stuck in Paris!, Carla in The Wasp, Nora in A Doll’s House and Kate in Legally Blonde the Musical. Mollie is currently taking on her first director and dramaturg role for Sparkfest Festival 2023.

Claire Philp / BESS 2 & LADY PARRY

Claire is an actor in her final year at BSU. Her credits whilst training include: Lou in a radio production of DNA, Elizabeth in Richard III, The professor in Jerusalem, Mrs Rutter in Caretakers and will be starring in her own children’s tv show Claire’s House which will debut in Sparkfest 2023.

Rebecca is an actor in her final year at BSU. Her credits whilst training include Ranyevskaya in The Cherry Orchard, Mrs Rutter in Caretakers and Joe changed to Joyce in a radio drama production of Haunting Julia. Rebecca is currently producing and acting in a horror short film for Sparkfest 2023 and will then begin her motion capture training for video games at The Mocap Vaults, after University.

Calum Halley / THOMAS ,DUKE OF NORFOLK

Calum is an actor in his final year of Bath Spa University. His acting credits whilst training include: King Richard III in Richard III, Nils Krogstad in A Doll’s House, Max in The Penetrator and Johnny ‘Rooster’ Byron in Jerusalem. He is now Directing, writing and performing on a new show ‘The Story of Florence Nightingale, Sort of’, which will be featuring in Sparkfest this May.

Holly Nicholson / LIVINGSTON

Holly is an actor in her final year at Bath Spa University. Her credits whilst training include: Ranyevskaya in The Cherry Orchard, Nora in A Doll’s House, Heather in The Wasp, Ruth in The Acid Test and Eve in Love In A Glass Jar. Holly looks forward to performing a devised piece, The Wrong Pod in Sparkfest 2023.

Dylan Kelly / GEORGE, EARL OF SHREWSBURY

Dylan is an actor in his final year at Bath Spa University. His credits include Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, Alan in Penetrator. Dylan is next performing at SparkFest in a devised comedic play called Florence’s Naughty Nurses.

Phoebe Harris / MARY 1

Phoebe is an actor/writer in her final year at Bath Spa University. Credits whilst training include: Arkadina in The Seagull, Nora in A Doll’s House, Brutus in Julius Caesar, Heather in The Wasp, and Tiffany in the sitcom Mugged. Phoebe will be acting/ puppeteering in her co-written show No Strings Attached for Sparkfest 2023.

Harriet Walton / SEATON

Harriet is an actor in her final year at Bath Spa University. Her credits while training include: Mrs Elvsted in Hedda Gabler, Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, Mrs Rutter in Caretakers and Gwen in Building Madness. She is now working towards her Sparkfest piece called Chasing Whiskey, a wacky whodunnit, in which she is directing and writing with her group.

Paddy King / WALSINGHAM

Paddy is an actor and musician in his final year at Bath Spa University. His stage credits include: Max in Penetrator, King Richard in Richard III, Torvald in A Doll’s house, Trigorin in The Seagull, Merriman in The importance of being Earnest, Mr Spit in Mother Goose, Fred in A Christmas carol, Simple Simon in Jack and the beanstalk, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and Puck in A midsummer night’s dream. Paddy will be performing under the direction of Mollie Biddlecombe in Sparkfest 2023 and will continue his own training in the exploration of postmodern theatre.

Ellie-Mae Williams / ROSE 2

Ellie-Mae is a Welsh actor, director and choreographer in her final year of training at Bath Spa University. She has previously trained at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s ‘Young Actors Studio’ programme. Her credits whilst training include: Madame Thénardier in Les Miserablés, Paddington Bear Storyteller and Elf at Cribbs Causeway Winter Wonderland, Lady Anne in Richard III, Davey in Jerusalem, Carla in The Wasp, Mrs Linde in A Doll’s House and she has doubled for Catherine Jenkins and Ellie Bamber in the films Dream Horse and Willow. Ellie-Mae will be performing a mime piece for Sparkfest Festival 2023.

Caitlin O’Connor-Brooke / BESS 1

Caitlin is an actor/director in her final year at BSU. She has previously trained at The Bath Theatre Royal School for 7+ years. Credits whilst training include: Boudicca in Boudicca, Boss in devised company Knotted, Lady Anne in Richard lll, Nora in A Doll’s House and Carla in The Wasp. She is now directing and devising a new show The Sofa, coming this May, in collaboration with Sparkfest.

Matthew Smith / DEPUTY STAGE MANAGER

Matthew is a third year TFEP student specialising in Stage Management. This is Matthew’s first time being a Deputy Stage Manager for a Bath Spa Production. He has found it a challenging, but thoroughly enjoyable experience. Matthew’s previous work includes: Christmas at Newton Park (2022) Lighting Designer, Rats Tales (2022) Assistant Stage Manager, The Government Inspector (2022) Assistant Construction, Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat (2022) Assistant LX and Programmer. Alongside working with Bath Spa Productions, Matthew has also worked within the Theatre Royal Bath: Into The Woods (2022) and Crazy For You (2022), Stage Crew.

Charlotte Tuck / SOUND DESIGNER

Charlotte is in her third year of TFEP specialising in Sound and Stage Management. This is Charlotte’s first time sound designing for a theatre production and has had a great time. Charlotte’s Previous work includes: Beast and Beauties (2021) Assistant Stage Manager, Shoot/get Treasure/Repeat (2022) Sound Operator/Assistant, Third Space (2022) Sound Designer, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2023) Deputy Stage Manager. As Well as working on the Bath Spa Productions, Charlotte carried out a placement with the Watermill Theatres youth company: A Monster Calls (2022) Assistant Stage Manager. She is also a member of the National Youth Theatre specialising in sound design.

Ana Snook / VIDEO DESIGNER/TECHNICIAN/OPERATOR

Ana is a third year student on the Theatre Festival and Event Production course, specialising in Video, Lighting and Stage Management. This is Ana’s first role in the Video department for a production. It has been an exciting and fun challenge working on Ed Viney’s The Glove Thief. Ana’s previous work includes: Video Designer/Tech for The Jukebox (2023), Stage Manager for Feargus Dunlop’s Habeas Corpus, DSM for Jenny Davies’ Christmas at Newton Park, Lighting Designer for Feargus Dunlops The Government Inspector, Chief Electrician for Emma Williams’ Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat. Rachael O’Connell / STAGE MANAGER

Rachael is a third year Theatre, Festival and Event Production student specialising in Production and Stage Management. Rachael has loved working on this show and the new skills that she has developed from this role. She has previously worked with Bath Spa Productions as an ASM for Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat, directed by Emma Williams, ASM for Bucket Club’s Five Children and It directed by Nel Crouch, Production Office Assistant at Arcadia Stage Glastonbury and most recently, she was Deputy Production Manager for Habeas Corpus directed by Feargus Dunlop and produced by Bath Spa Productions. Elle Clarke / ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER

Elle is a second year student, studying Theatre, Festival and Events Production, specialising in stage management and production management. A Bath native and award-winning production assistant, she has worked in the local theatre industry for eight years. The Glove Thief is her second production with Bath Spa Productions. She is most recently credited as an Assistant Stage Manager for Christmas at Newton Park. Past credits include: Project Rampage, Ruins, Enron, The Billy-Club Puppets, Out of Your Mind: Train Theory and Duets with Theatre Royal Bath, the stage management crew of Saltford Pantomime, Assistant Stage Manager at Disneyland Paris, and Production Assistant on the set of the BBC’s ‘Casualty’.

Em Noon

/ CHIEF PROP MAKER

Em is a third year student studying Theatre, Festival and Event Production, specialising in scenic design, prop making and costume. This is their second time as chief prop maker, and they are excited to be back in the bizarre, wonderful world of props. Recent credits include set designer for Habeas Corpus (Rondo Theatre), SFX makeup artist for Christmas at Newton Park (Newton Park Main House), and dresser for Noises Off (Theatre Royal Bath). Chloe Lewis / LIGHTING DESIGNER AND VIDEO DESIGNER

Chloe is a second year student on the Theatre, Festival and Event Production course who specialises in Lighting, Video and Stage Management. This is Chloe’s first lighting designer role, she has found it quite challenging but has loved every aspect of the creative process. Chloe’s previous work: Christmas at Newton Park (2022) Chief electrician, The Government inspector (2022) assistant stage manager and Beasts and Beauties (2021), Chief electrician. Crystal Yuen / COSTUME DESIGNER

Crystal Yuen specialises in Costume and Stage/Production Management. This is Crystal’s first Costume Designer role and she has found it a challenging and exciting experience. Her costume designs draw inspiration from actual portraits of the real world characters and modern influences from pop culture and fashion. Crystal’s previous educational credits include; Senior Costume Maker for ‘Christmas at Newton Park’ (2022) and Assistant Stage Manager for ‘The Government Inspector’ (2022) and ‘Third Space (2022)’. Last summer, Crystal enjoyed placements with Arcadia Spectacular as a Production Assistant for ‘Glastonbury Festival’ (2022) and ‘Valley Fest’ (2022). Jen is a creative focusing in the scenography areas; Stage Design, Scenic Art and Construction with a strong passion for Creature Props. She has found The Glove Thief a special opportunity to be able to paint her design and collaborate with a strong team. Jen is in her third year studying Theatre, Festivals and Events
