EPEKTO "IMPACT"
EPEKTO IS THE TAGALOG WORD FOR IMPACT. THIS PORTFOLIO SHOWCASE MY WORKS IN MY INTERPRETATION
INFLUENCE i enjoy understanding and appreaciating art, architecture and design especially during my basic years at spatial design. It allowed me to gain a new sensitivity and also cater to people from how they react and fill up the void in the spaces we have.
With reference to my understanding and philosophy about design and space. The word epekto demonstrates that spaces are designed with intent and there is purpose in how people will react to the designs.

my journey INTRO "This is my take and yours will differ." Romench G. Bautista is a multi-disciplinary designer which will graduate from Nanyang Polytechnic with a Diploma of Spatial Design batch 2021. He has keen interest in design and spaces and has been pursing design for 8 years from hobbies, projects and part time jobs during his school holiday.
With the influence from his father who is a structural engineer he has been always interested in buildings but has always been amazed by the design concepts and the considerations architecture has for the uses of spaces. He also takes up photography as a hobby which he uses to document his studies which captures the essence of people using the spaces and relationship with buildings. He has been pursing his passion in hopes to be a licensed Architect in the future using his skills and understanding of people-space and buildings.

SIGN THINKING HAVING INTEREST IS ONE STORY BUT PURSING INTEREST IS A DREAM. FOR ROMENCH DESIGN WAS NEVER ALWAYS A FORTITUDE, HE HAD TROUBLE EXPRESSING IDEAS AND MAKING PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT HE HAD. IN SPATIAL DESIGN HE FOUND OUT THAT DESIGN IS NOT ALL ABOUT AESTHETICS AND THERE ARE CONCEPTS OF EXPLORATION WHICH ARE RADICAL, FUN AND ENJOYABLE, ESPECIALLY IN STUDIO WHERE HE LEARNT THAT IN THIS WORLD THE ESSENSE OF SPACES AND PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT. HIS WAYS OF EXPLORATION WAS CONDONED IN STUDIO AND ALSO WITH THE GUIDANCE OF HIS MENTOR WAYNE NEO, CURATE HIS FINDINGS AND DESIGN FROM THERE ONWARDS. DESIGN THINKING IS A PROCESS OF SEEING THE UNSEEN.

Create a design from your slice which was to describe the city, in your own two words. My words were intertwined understandings knowing that every part of the city past present and the purposes of the people are all present at this overlooked and lack of potential place. Instead of making this a constraint, I found this is an opportunity using my understanding of space and how people will react I created this study and create a space deliberately.

THE PROJECT WAS ABOUT CREATING A UTOPIA SPACE. I TOOK IT AS A CHALLENGE TO DEMONSTRATE THE CHANGES AND HOW SOCIETY WORKS IN THE CURRENT DAY AND HOW IT WILL BE IN MY OWN IDEOLOGY. I ALWAYS FELT THAT THE INTEGRATION OF PEOPLE FROM CULTURES,

THE INTERIOR DETAILS, TESTING ON SCALE AND PROPORTION AND THE WORKMANSHIP
FOR THIS PROJECT IT IS A TESTAMENT OF MY WORKMANSHIP. I SCORED A DISTINCTION FOR MY MODEL MAKING MODULE BECAUSE OF THE DETAILS AND THE CAPABILITY TO THINK OR OTHER WAYS TO MAKE CUSTOM SCALLED FURNITURE AND DESIGNS. THE MODEL IS SCALLED TO REAL LIFE HENCE IF A CLIENT WITH THE SAME BUILDING WERE TO ASK FOR THE MODEL AND DESIGN THIS PRODUCT THIS MODEL IS ACCURATE.
"SPACES NORMAL TO SCALE , FUNCTIONAL AND WITHIN THE REQUIREMENTS... IS THAT WHAT DESIGN IS ALL ABOUT JUST MAKING THE AESTHETIC AND FUNCTIONAL?" 53
