Annual Company Gathering Celebrating Excellence for another Year At Kraken Kratom, our annual Christmas party is the highlight of the year. We take a break from our labs and screens to gather for a good old-fashioned dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse. It’s the one time when our whole team, from New York to Oregon, gets together to celebrate the year’s hard work. This isn’t your typical corporate gathering. It’s more like a family reunion. Everyone from remote workers to local staff comes together, sharing stories and catching up. There’s a lot of laughter, some hearty steak, and the clinking of glasses. It’s our

way of saying thanks to each other for another year of teamwork. We’re a diverse bunch at Kraken, and it’s this mix of backgrounds and talents that makes us strong. It’s clear in these moments that it’s the people that make Kraken Kratom stand out. We share a belief that what we do matters, and our products reflect that. The Christmas party is also a time to reflect on our shared achievements and the hurdles we’ve overcome. We chat about what we’ve done and dream about where we’re going, all while enjoying some

great food and company. In the end, the party is about celebrating our Kraken family and the bond we share. It’s this bond that helps us

provide top-notch products and service all year round. And when we take a group photo, it’s more than just a snapshot. It’s a reminder of

the great team we have and the great things we’ll continue to do together. krakenkratom.com

It’s More Than Just a Store - Guns, Fishing and Other Stuff has a Strong Commitment to Their Employees, Family, Friends and The Community

Guns, Fishing and other Stuff was started in 2005 when Bill and Lucia Morgan bought Guns and Gear in the Alamo Plaza in Vacaville. When they bought Guns and Gear, they already had plans to build the building they are in now. Construction of the new building started in 2006, after finding a debris pile under the footprint of the building which had to be removed. They were left with a choice of an indoor swimming pool (not a realistic option - LOL) or an indoor shooting range. After a quick redesign it was designed as an indoor shooting range. Then in 2007 the doors open on Vacaville newest sporting goods store. In 2009 when the construction industry struggled, the Morgan’s son, Travis, joined the team at the store. By 2011, Travis became the store manager of the Vacaville store. In 2011 the family started looking for a second location. After a long search they decided on Dublin. During a year of negations, the construction to remodel the store in Dublin had started. Travis moved back to his old role of running the remodel of the new store. In September of 2014 the doors opened on the Dublin store.

In 2018 Travis became the general manager of Guns Fishing and Other Stuff. He ran the day-to-day operations of the store. To this day, it is still a family-owned business. You can stop in and see Travis at the store most of the time. You will see Bill and Lucia in the store from time to time as they rebuild their home that was destroyed in the LNU fire of 2020. Through the years the family has worked with toys for tots around the holidays. They have done work with the local high school trap and fishing teams. Hunting, fishing and shooting are a great family activity. As a family owned business the Morgan family realizes this and holds a strong family values. All the employees are their extended family. Habitat for Humanity is Dedicated to Empowering Homeowers

For homeowners in Alameda County who are looking to stay in their homes long term, a special program exists to support them. The Renew Alameda County, or Renew AC, program helps homeowners make renovations necessary to stay, grow, and thrive in their homes. Renew AC can make your home improvement plans come to life—without breaking the bank. Renew AC provides 1% interest loans from $15,000 to $150,000 to qualified homeowners. Simple interest is accrued annually, with total interest never to exceed 50% of amount borrowed, and payments are deferred until the home is sold. This financing product was brought to life through the Measure A1 bond funds voters passed in 2016, and with the support of the County’s Housing and Community Development Department and program administrator

Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley, almost 40 homes are renovated each year. The loan program was designed to be as favorable as possible to low-income residents, providing an amazing 1% interest rate, and a 50% cap on the amount of interest accrued. Payments are not required until the home is sold. Many older adults, households with a disabled person, and growing families are leveraging the program to be sure their home will be able to serve them the way they need for decades to come. One such client, James Powell of Oakland, said, ““This program is necessary, amazing, and absolutely essential for the health and safety of aging seniors.” To learn more, visit RenewAC.org or call Habitat’s Home Preservation staff at (510) 803-3388 or HomeRepair@ HabitatEBSV.org.

Q:

I thought Tom Brady was going to become a football commentator after he retired. Who is he working for now? -- P.T. A: The seven-time NFL-SuperBowl-winning quarterback signed a huge deal with Fox before he retired earlier this year. However, he’s not expected to take the mic away from current co-analyst Greg Olsen (with Kevin Burkhardt) until the 2024 NFL season begins. Brady has stated that “decompression is important,” explaining that he wants to excel at commentating and avoid jumping into the role immediately. As for Olsen, his contract with Fox doesn’t end until the 2026 season concludes, so where that will leave him once Brady joins the booth is still uncertain. *** I started watching cable TV again and wonder if I’ll still be able to watch my favorite classic Christmas movies this season. Is “It’s a Wonderful Life” on cable? What about other classics? -- K.J. A:With so much programming to choose from on network and cable TV as well as a plethora of streaming services, you could probably find holiday entertainment on your screen 24 hours a day. Fortunately, the old classics are still around. “It’s a Wonderful Life,” which was first released in 1946 and stars James Stewart and Donna Reed, will air on NBC on Dec. 24 at 8 p.m. ET. Prime Video, Roku, FuboTV and DirecTV Stream will also carry the movie in December, if not sooner. Two versions of

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” (PG) -- In the sequel to the 2018 hit animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” Shameik Moore reprises his role as Miles Morales. Miles is currently trying to balance his newfound Spider-Man title with the qualms of life when he comes across an old friend, Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld). Feeling more misunderstood than ever, Miles gets enticed by the fact that Gwen is now in a task force of spider-people who protect the multiverse and decides to join her amid his inexperience. In turn, his thirst to prove himself leads him down a rocky road where sacrifice is inevitable. Putting the stellar voice cast aside (Issa Rae, Oscar Isaac, Daniel Kaluuya), the animation of these films continues to be inventive and breathtaking, and it excels in building on Miles’ unique origin story. “A Haunting in Venice” (PG-13) -- Director and actor Kenneth Branagh brought back his version of Agatha Christie’s sharp-witted detective Hercules Poirot for the third time in this spooky mystery film out now on streaming. The now retired (but not for long) Poirot decides to

accompany writer Ariadne Oliver (Tina Fey) to a Halloween party in a Venetian palazzo. At the party, opera singer Rowena announces a seance to contact her recently deceased daughter, but shortly after the seance ends, a murder is committed in perfect timing for Poirot to jump on the case! This film is a much better addition to Branagh’s trilogy than his previous “Death on the Nile,” having garnered $119 million in the box office with a $60 million budget. Plus, Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh is always a welcome sight! (Hulu) “Fingernails” (R) -- In this sci-fi romance film, Anna (Jessie Buckley) and Ryan (Jeremy Allen White) are a seemingly perfect match -- with evidence to prove it! Three years before, they took and aced the fingernail test created by the Love Institute, an institution that works to help to establish certainty and rid doubts in romantic relationships. Curious to know more about the institute, Anna takes up a job there and starts gravitating toward another instructor named Amir (Riz Ahmed). Finding herself torn between her longing for Amir and the stability she has with Ryan, Anna grapples with whether she’s truly with her perfect match, or if such a thing even exists. Out now!
