WINTER IN MUNICH – A TIME TO ENJOY

hen winter comes to Munich and the snowflakes glisten in the evening light, the time is right to discover and enjoy the beauty of the city with friends. Mangers – a world in miniature! The Bavarian National Museum has the most extensive and artistically valuable nativity scene collection in the world. On display are more than 60 nativity scenes, replete with figures, created in the Alps region and in Italy between 1700 and the early 20th century.

CHRISTKINDLESMARKT NUREMBERG – A WINTER WONDERLAND

ure romanticism, a visit to the past, but also future-oriented mindset in the form of organic foods – all this can be found at the Nuremberg Christmas Market. Beginning Friday, November 28th, the main market is aglow, the main market is aglow through Christmas Eve; a few feet further, is where you’ll find the “Nuremberg Sister City Christmas Market” where Nuremberg’s sister cities from all over the world take part (the USA is represented by Atlanta) – this provides an international Christmas flair. And the Kids Christmas Market on the Hans-Sachs-Platz draws the little ones into its spell. A shopping stroll on Nuremberg’s streets and lanes in festive lights is a true experience. Back at the main market, the traditional wooden booths beckon with a mix of aromas of mulled wine, bratwurst and of course gingerbread.
