LUNAR RENDEZVOUS got off to a happy start June 6 as the crowd gathered at Pier 6 Seafood and Oyster House in San Leon for the always fun Dining Night. Festival Chairman Wendy Drapela joined Dining Night Co-Chairmen Chris Rylant and Mandie McMillan Crowder in welcoming the crowd. Entertainment included an aerialist and mirrored lady on stilts from Fly Girl Entertainment, a DJ out on the patio providing music for dancing plus Judge Louie Ditta conducting the live auction, which together with the silent auction, raised $13,855 to go towards college scholarships for Bay Area high school seniors. And dinner? Aw, yes – grilled chicken, fish, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and brussel sprouts, served buffet style, even an oyster bar where fresh shucked oysters waited to add to everyone’s delight, as did the blueberry bread pudding as they talked over plans for the upcoming festival events – Sunset Service Sunday, July 17, Fashion Show Tuesday, July 19 and the elegant Coronation Ball Saturday, July 23.
