EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY School of Education Master's Programs: MSEd and MA The Master of Science (MSEd) consists of 36 hours and is designed for students interested in individual differences and advanced study in educational psychology. The Master of Arts (MA) is a 30 hour non-terminal program suited for students intending to pursue a doctoral degree.
Gifted and Talented (GT) Specialization
School Psychology: Education Specialist (EdS) The Education Specialist degree is a three-year program that prepares individuals to provide direct and indirect educational, behavioral, and mental health services to students, their families, their teachers, and other professionals to create supportive learning and social environments.
PhD in Educational Psychology
The GT specialization advances students' knowledge regarding gifted children, their social/emotional needs, curricular needs, and the creativity and strategies needed for teaching them. Following a practicum, students are eligible to add the state certification in GT to their teaching credential.
The PhD program offers a multidisciplinary curriculum with a strong research component. Students can focus on four broad areas:
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Specialization
n School Psychology
The ABA specialization is available within both the master's and doctoral degree programs. At the master's level, the curriculum is designed to prepare students to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). At the doctoral level, the curriculum is designed to prepare students to become BCBAs as well as leaders in behavior analytic research as future professors.
Quantitative Methods (MA only) This specialization trains students in educational measurement, research and quantitative data analysis. There is also a fifth-year option for highly motivated undergraduates.
