CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION Strickland Scholars (MSEd)
with Teacher Certification
The Baylor MSEd with initial secondary teaching certification offers a full-time, high-quality program to earn a master’s degree in 15 months.
Cohort Model Students enter and advance through the program in cohorts of 12-15 students, beginning each summer session.
Designed for students who have completed a bachelor’s degree and sufficient undergraduate hours in an applicable field of study, the Strickland Scholars Program develops highly qualified professionals through coursework and faculty-guided field experiences in teaching grades 7-12.
Graduate Faculty Leadership The graduate faculty of Baylor School of Education provide research-based pedagogy through rigorous coursework.
Certification Areas:
Innovative Teaching Baylor faculty members employ innovative and highly effective teaching strategies in the classroom and teach future educators how to utilize such strategies themselves.

C&I Graduate Program: Grounded in a caring community of faith-based scholars, Baylor’s Department of Curriculum & Instruction prepares individuals for transformative leadership in the fields of curriculum, teaching and learning. Our students learn to shape the future through research and practice, addressing complex issues with innovation and creativity.
Field Experiences Students gain hands-on experience and preparation through multiple and varied faculty-guided field work in local schools, including one semester of a student teaching experience.

The Strickland Scholars Program is completed in one academic year, plus two summers.
