Being bisexual growing up was hard and not easy for those around me in my family; they would say I was confused or going through a phase.

This made me feel like I was not worthy or not lovable unless I was the way they wanted me to be.

Dealing with depression, I have grown to love myself more even if others do not. To reward me more, even when others do not, to take more care of me and love me. In doing this, I have grown in life and in business; I can now go out and just be me, live and love and just enjoy the days given to me. To never take any day for granted, and if I need or want something, make a plan and follow it. I have also learned to keep those people full of drama and negativity out of my life because when I am around it, I consume it and become it, and I no longer want to feel that way. So, I surround myself with positive people, driven and always ready to start their day, business-minded, and want to see me grow and succeed.

I am proud of myself, and how far I have come in the last five years, not letting the bad days or bad moments get to me or the no I am sorry we cannot help you today, tare me down.

I keep going; there is someone out there willing to help you and someone out there willing to believe in you as much as you believe in yourself; you just always remember to be you, never change you, love you unconditionally others will follow.

Galaxy Girl Power By: Shonta Jones “Galaxy Girl Power characters came to me one day in a dream”, Editor and Chief Shawntae said of Bay Style Magazine. It was a crazy fight against the World and Men trying to prove how unpowerful we really were and how powerful we are together as ONE. Each Galaxy Girl had their own Powers and when we’re together, their powers were even stronger. Awakening from this dream I decided to create some new characters and call them “Galaxy Girls” a group of women who go around battling negative energy and stereotypes around the world. Each Galaxy Girl comes from a different planet or sometimes the same planet and each planet has a Goddess in charge of her clan of women.

The three Galaxy Girls I choose to showcase in this issue are The Goddess of Unon, The Goddess of Uton, and The Goddess of Ulor. Model Nefertiti is the Galaxy Girl Power Goddess of the Unon Clan, f rom the planet UNN, a planet where all the women are Amazons (tall 6’1 or taller) and have powers to control the Blackholes around them and within their planet’s atmosphere.

Making it hard for their enemies to attack their planet. Once the women and the Goddess of Unon encounter the Blackholes, they drain their essence which in turn makes their powers grow stronger and they can become an unstoppable force to be reckoned with.

Unon Galaxy Girls have a power that is so strong, that each woman can create their own Blackhole out of pure space in the atmosphere and suck their

enemies inside of it.

The second Galaxy Girl I am showcasing is model Julia as the Goddess of Olor Clan from the planet called OLL, a Goddess who has the power to drain power and energy from the sun and all the stars around her, creating a massive light that blinds her enemies.

Julia calls upon her clan of Ulor women and can defeat an army of up to 50,000 soldiers. Ulor is surrounded by a beam of light and can blind their enemies before they try to attack their planet, making it difficult to penetrate their atmosphere. Julia is the second Goddess in power next to Nefertiti and her clan of Unons . Julia can always count on the Goddess of Unon to help her in her time of battle.

The third Galaxy Girl I have decided to showcase is model Brianna as the Goddess of Uton Clan from the planet UTT and she has the power to control gravity and the climate around her, creating mass confusion and destruction in the path of her enemies.

The Goddess of Uton can throw boulders, planets, and debris floating in space at her enemies, such objects as our satellites and space ships. The Uton planet is protected by floating rocks and debris all around the planet and can only be moved by the women of Uton to let visitors in.

The Goddess of Uton can always count on the Goddesses of Unon and Olor to come to her need if she needs help in battle.

All three Galaxy Girls are linked by one power that helps them to sense when the other is in need, this link is called “Girl Power”, anytime a sister is in need,

the Galaxy Girls Power senses go off and she rushes to the aide of the Goddess in need. Throughout each issue, you will learn more history about each character and the battles they have fought together, some wins and some losses.

Galaxy Girl Power is in all of us and we can all help a sister in need, a fellow woman in need, if we come to one another’s aid more often, instead of tearing one another down, we would accomplish so much more, and grow even stronger. Let’s uplift this sisterhood and grow powerful together. Who is with me?

Gigi MODEL SPOTLIGHT WHERE ARE THEY NOW. BY: MINH TRAN

The fashion world is a fun and exciting place to be in when you are passionate about the idea of modeling and trying to emersed yourself in its many avenues. In this issue of Bay Style Magazine's Talent Spotlight for Fall Around The World. We uncover the many layers of child star Geianna Gonzalez or also known as Gigi, and figure out what makes her one of the most booked child models in the Bay Area and beyond. At the age of 12. Gigi was already thrown into the fashion and performance industry by her mom and manager, Ginette Jackson. Gigi started modeling at the age of eight and is used to being booked for high-profile modeling and runway show assignments. We had a chance to sit down with her as she recently returned from Las Vegas for a relative/ business trip.

BSM is eager to learn about Gigi's passion and is wondering if she will be pursuing this career path as she gets older.

BSM: Can you tell us about yourself?

Gonzalez: My name is Geianna Gonzalez, but my close friends and family call me Gigi. That is also my stage name when I walk in fashion shows or do editorial shoots for fashion designers. I am 12 years old, and I started modeling when I was eight years old; my mom introduced me to the world of fashion modeling because she saw my interests in clothes and finding different ways to express them.

BSM: Can you describe the feelings you get when you walk down the catwalk or go on fashion shoot assignments?

Gonzalez: I love it! It's enjoyable. I travel with my mom at the age that I am; a few tweens and teenagers rarely travel for work, especially in fashion. I get to see new locations and experience new cultures.

BSM: What are your hobbies and talents that you want us to know?

Gonzalez: Besides modeling and posing, I am very intuned with my fitness and being active! I am currently in Track and field, and I think it's a great hobby because I train my body to be fit! Alongside being healthy.

"I have the chance to be booked by high-profile designers around Northern America. I get to travel with my mom! She is my rock and my confidant. I look up to my mother because she's a strong and compassionate woman who puts her children first. She cares about my

I have so many memories with my mother and how we used to do silly things on tour. We recently got back from Las Vegas for a quick family and work trip, and throughout the whole journey! I was having fun with my cousins and friends!" said Gonzalez.

BSM: If you can give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?

Gonzalez: I know that I am young, and I still have a lot of learning to do. As for now, I would say to my younger self, don't be afraid to try new things, give your best shot, and don't give up! I didn't get to where I am today if I hadn't tried new things and keep pushing through the small challenges that I faced.

BSM: Fashion is an ever-changing industry. Seasons come and go, and trends are a huge factor in the designer's fantasy to sell a specific look and lifestyle. Do you follow fashion trends, or do you set them?

Gonzalez: "I am a free spirit and like to express myself through clothes as much as I can. I do follow trends, some trends." said Gonzalez. Most of the time, I choose what to wear based on my emotions.

BSM: Are you on social media?

BSM: What is it like working with Shonta Jones?

Gonzalez: My mom and I have been working with Shonta Jones for a few months now with the start of her new magazine. I think she is a very creative person and all of her images are exceptional when it comes to personal expressions. I like working with her.

BY SHONTA JONES Horseback riding on the ranch with Bay Style Talent Youth Ashlyn and her mom Christina was a fantastic experience for us all. Ashlyn was so excited about the lessons with Melissa and has never ridden a horse before, which made for an incredible trip to the ranch. When we arrived on the farm, we were greeted with big smiles and hugs from my good friend, a fantastic House Trainer, Melissa Sachs.

When I contacted Melissa, I just wanted to take images with the horses, post them onto our social media sites, use some in our publication magazine, and have a new concept to add to the Bay Style Talent Youths portfolios.

At the beginning of the lesson, Melissa held the ropes and guided the horse around the soft, patched ground under the shaded rooftop stables.

Once Melissa felt Ashlyn had control and could steer the horse on her own, she took the rope off and let Ashlyn ride free around the stable, still close to her and the horse if Ashlyn needed help.

After going around the stable inside for a few tries, Melissa then escorted Ashlyn and the horse outside to the course, where Ashlyn took to the class as she had done before.

IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND BONDING TIME FOR THE BAYSTYLE TALENTS

I was so honored and excited when Melissa offered to teach the Youth how to ride and go through an optical course instead of just posing with the horses. Ashlyn, Christina, and I were taken on a tour of the stables and got to meet over fifteen amazing horses who have been in a World Show or going to be in the World Show. We also met an interesting animal called a “Zonkey,” a Donkey and Zebra mix, to cool. Ashlyn had the great honor of riding Daniel, a famous show horse from back in the days and turning in a circle and stutter-step side to side.
