SKATE FOR GOLD

That feeling is indescribable. My next goals are to be the first Malaysian to qualify for the Winter Olympics. To inspire others to chase big goals and dreams and to work hard to get there. To help people who cannot help themselves. To advocate and create awareness for the things I believe in. To keep going. The ones who succeed are not always the most talented or smartest or luckiest. They simply showed up every single day and worked hard. Often times you’ll find that the points where you’re most ready to give up are the moments just before you’re about to succeed. You’re always closer than you think. You just need to keep going. To the aspiring athletes out there... When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are against you. (Elon Musk)”

“Everyone that told me no and said that I couldn’t do it. That I was not good enough, I was not strong enough, I didn’t have enough time. All the people that didn’t believe in me just pushed me to prove them wrong. I knew what I could do and what I could accomplish. I was just waiting for my time to show the world what I could do. No matter what was standing in my way, I always believed in myself. My family - who have sacrificed so much for me. I wanted this win for them too. There is no secret that the lead up to the SEA Games was tough for me. Everyone could tell by how emotional I got on the podium receiving my first medal. After all the struggles I had faced in the months, the night and even the very day of the competition, not only had I made it out of the storm, but I had triumphed.
