A Case Manager With Big Goals Catching up with Sheniqua Lee

In July of 2004, Sheniqua Lee was matched with a Little Sister and nearly ten years later Sheniqua now supports over sixty matches as a BBBSLI Case Manager. “Being a former Big has helped a lot when it comes to suggesting activity ideas, but more importantly, I know exactly what it is like to be in the shoes of a volunteer, so I try to provide the right support in making sure it is a positive experience for the match,” said Sheniqua. “It has definitely been comforting for our Bigs to be able to speak with someone who has gone through the process.” What separates the organization from other mentoring agencies is the professional support provided by the team of extraordinary Case Managers. From match activity suggestions to a supportive voice, BBBSLI Case Managers are determined to ensure that every match has an experience that changes lives for the better, forever. “I have done a lot of volunteer work in the past and have worked with other charities, but no other organization lives up to its mission like BBBSLI,” Sheniqua added. “Now as a Case Manager, I have the opportunity to see several matches in action and it is truly an inspiration.” BBBSLI is continuously looking to assist more children across Long Island as well as attract wonderful volunteers willing to make an impact on a child’s life.

“The best part about being a Big Sister was that I was able to go out, have fun and still have a positive impact on someone. “ - Sheniqua Lee
