"Our God Reigns: He Sends Down Showers of Blessings to All"

What a blessing to be selected as the 2016 Men & Women’s Day co-chairs! Armed with our theme scripture: “Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder shouting: "Hallelujah! For our God Almighty reigns." Rev. 19:6, and with encouragement and approval of our pastor, Rev. Walter E. Daniels (deceased), we began this journey. It was clear that the challenges we faced were real, however, not insurmountable. We prayed about it, reached out to our brothers and sisters of St Mark AMEC for their participation on the committees, and began the planning. The BBQ Taste Off, the All That Jazz Dinner, the annual Walk-A-Thon, and the Souvenir book all contributed to making this effort a great forum for fellowship and to support our financial goals. As the co-chairs of the 2016 Men & Women’s Day, we want to thank the entire St. Mark AMEC family for their prayers, support, financial blessings, or whatever role you played. Continue to bless our church, especially the youth of St Mark AMEC, for they will guide us spiritually into the future. Rev. Queen Ann Yancy Ministerial Staff, St. Mark A.M.E. Church, Atlanta, Georgia

REV. QUEEN ANN YANCY, born the fifth child of the late David Yancy, Sr. and the renowned florist extraordinaire Queen E. Phillips Yancy, Rev. Yancy grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, graduated from Hillcrest High School, and is a lifelong member of White's Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She currently serves as part of the clergy staff at St. Mark A.M.E. Church in Atlanta. She holds a graduate certificate in addiction counseling, a BS Degree in Business Administration Management from Rust College, Holly Springs, MS and a Masters of Divinity Degree (M. Div.) from the Memphis Theological Seminary. Rev. Queen Ann Yancy is a faithful, modern disciple, and ministering servant of God. In September 2008, Rev. Queen Ann Yancy answered the divine call to the ministry and in September 2009 became licensed to preach by Presiding Elder Linda Faye Thomas Martin under the jurisdiction of the South Memphis Tennessee District of White's Chapel A.M.E. Church. She was ordained as an Itinerant Elder by Bishop Jeffrey N. Leath on October 10, 2015. As a disciple, she is committed to walking in God's way, putting her trust in the Lord with a whole heart so that God will direct her path. As a humble child of God, studying to show herself approved, a work-man who needs not be ashamed. As a minister, holding fast the faithful word as she has been taught, that she may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince gainsayers. As a servant, letting her light shine so that others will see God's glory reflected. Rev. Yancy stands ready to offer a word in season to those who would hear. She feels her greatest commitment in the ministry is to be the most loving, caring, and integrity-driven servant she can be.

Rev. Ezekiel Powers

Ministerial Staff, Mathalama AME Church, Morrow, Georgia REV. EZEKIEL POWERS is a native of Wetumpka, Alabama and a product of the Elmore County, Alabama school system. He has been married to Rev. Esther King Powers for 35 years and together they have two daughters and three grandchildren. Rev. Powers has matriculated at John Patterson Technical College, Atlanta Christian College and Beulah Heights University. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Beulah Heights University and a Masters of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Powers answered the call to ministry in May of 1996 under the leadership of Rev. Dr. T.N. Hercules. Rev. Powers is an ordained itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He has served as Associate Minister at St. Mark A.M.E. Church, Atlanta, Georgia and Pastor of St. Luke A.M.E. Church, Barwick, Georgia, ATOC AME Church, Dawson, Georgia, Cleveland Chapel AME Church, McDonough, Georgia and from May 6, 2010 until October 2014 served as the pastor of Mathalama AME Church in Morrow, Georgia. He now serves on staff with his wife who currently pastors Mathalama AME Church. Rev. Powers enjoys reading, walking, fishing and spending time in preparation for service to God through prayer and meditation. Through all of his efforts he believes that you should preach and teach the word of God to the people of God so that souls are revived and demons tremble and die. But most of all he is a humble servant of God, who believes “we must work while it is yet day, for night shall and will come when no man or woman will work!”
