Emma’s education project about the increasing garbage problem in Nanatha, Mozambique. From July till September 2015 Emma van der Harst worked on a project that tried to deal with the increasing garbage problem in Nanatha, Mozambique. Emma is a 24 years old medical student from Groningen. She has a broad interest and therefore she also studied Philosophy. Her genuine interest in other cultures and the desire to contribute made her contact Anan Clinica to do an internship in Mozambique. It was her first experience in Africa, which made it a very special time for her. There were no facilities at all to keep the village clean, like for example garbage bins. A few years ago little shops began to arise in Nanatha, the community in which Anan Clinica is situated.
