A dry sanitation and gravity feed water system was implemented to reduce both energy and water use, and impact on the environment. A water purification plant cleans the borehole water to ensure safe drinking water (bottled water is discouraged). And warm water is produced with decentralized solar heaters. The conservation of the marine protected area has been recognised by the WWF, who praise the lodge and the community for their joint work towards the preservation of this area for generations to come.
