COMBAT GROIN PROTECTION
Tier 1 - Blast Boxers®
BCB were the innovators of combat groin protection in 2008 following an urgent requirement from the UK Ministry of Defence.
• Lightweight mesh sides and lining to help relieve the heat and perspiration – anti-odour and fast drying properties
Our two tier system we believe offers some of the best ballistic protection available for the groin, while minimizing the additional burden on the soldier.
• Simple 3 piece design is easy to put on and remove • The unique Aramid ‘split strap’ between the leg is designed to help reduce hips and pelvic dislocation. • The integral abrasion resistant knee pad in the breeches means the soldier can do away with separate knee pads.
• Boxer short style • Knitted Kevlar • Comfortable, soft and loose fitting • Sizes: Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large *Colour may vary from that shown Product Features • 2 layer Kevlar zones to protect the groin and femoral arteries
• External seams to maximise comfort • Low cut leg to help protect the femoral artery • Anti micobial - AATCC 100 • Fire retardant
• Lightweight
“Overall the BB’s performed extremely well stopping all fragments apart from the last extreme blast. The BB’s did not allow any fragments to penetrate at all apart from the final test where they were tested to destruction”
• Low thermal burden
C.S Parnell, Royal Engineer
Tier 1
• Designed to increase the chance of saving the leg above the knee - major benefit for rehabilitation and future quality of life.
These shorts offer protection against fragments during blasts from IED's, and help guard against life changing injuries such as perineal and femoral artery injuries.
Underwear - Blast Boxers
• Comfortable • Anti-microbial and wicking • Worn next to the skin
• The deflector waist band fits outside the body armour and is designed to help deflect the blast away from the body.
Tier 2 Overwear either Chaps-shorts or Breeches-longs Loose hanging to; • reduce the thermal burden • for greater freedom of movement Blast deflector *patent pending Both styles allow full access to the combat trouser pockets.

Extensive testing
Comparative Tier 1 trial report between BCB Blast Boxers® and silk underwear
Extensive independent testing, including; • Ballistic firing range tests, standard V50 trials • Blast tests - 5, 10 & 15 Kilos (40lbs) of ANFO with 500gram (1lb) booster charge. • User comfort trials, including environment chamber trials at 104oF (40oC) • Accelerated debris firing
All ballistic tests in this report have been conducted and certified by an independent ballistic test facility. The table below gives a simple graphical comparison of the V50 performance figures obtained during independent testing on the Blast Boxers® and silk underwear. Fragmentation penetrated only 1 layer.

Conclusion
Femoral arteries
• The silk underwear and the BCB Blast Boxers® are similar in comfort and thermal burden. • The BCB Blast Boxers® offer greatly enhanced ballistic protection over the silk underwear. • The difference in ballistic protection between the garments increase dramatically following washing • This protection comes in both higher projectile velocity stopping capability and greatly reduced face deformation or trauma. • The BCB Blast Boxers® weigh approximately half of that of the silk underwear. • BCB Blast Boxers® are fire retardant. • Both BCB and the silk underwear product uses anti-microbial fabrics.
patent pending
• Washing of Blast Boxers® has no detrimental ballistic performance. • Washing of silk underwear reduces ballistic performance by 16%. Protection for all crucial areas above the knee Offers excellent protection to the femoral artery which is vital to prevent ‘bleed out’
