The Neil Robertson Stretcher Neil Robertson’s Naval service started in 1899 taking him across the world from the Outer Hebrides to Africa, and during World War 1 he was serving on HMS Blake. John Neil Robertson died at the age of 41 on 22 December 1914 and was buried, with full Naval honours, in Plymouth, England. The first Neil Robertson stretcher was made at some point between 1906 and 1912. However, it is not known to what extent he contributed to it’s design. It is almost certain that he was part of a long list of contributors including Captain Fitzherbert, Captain C.A.W. Hamilton and Fleet Surgeon I.M. McElwee. Manufactured from high quality duck canvas and ramin slats, the Neil Robertson stretcher has been widely used for 100 years. The slats are stitched into the canvas to ensure both rigidity and casualty security. Ideal for casualty evacuation from confined spaces, or where vertical lifts only can be executed. Shark Repellent BCB shark repellent contains a chemical and a thick black dye that repels and disorientates sharks. When tested by the US Navy in 1967 BCB’s shark repellent was the only product out of 24 to achieve any success in repelling sharks. Since then BCB’s shark repellent has been used by Navies worldwide as their approved shark repellent. When this foil packed sachet is squeezed in water, the crystalline acetate produces a dense black cloud. The inner bag has an attachment cord so it can be kept close to your body. This NATO approved product is used in life rafts and for airborne survival packs. • Weight: 115g (4oz) Code: MM208 NSN: 6850-99-220-3539

The Fibrelight “2” Escape Ladder

The Fibrelight “2” Boarding Ladder

All new cargo ships built after 1st January 2010 with more than 100m from stem or stern to the closest survival craft are now required to carry remote liferafts and a means of disembarkation enabling descent to the water in a controlled manner. The use of knotted rope is no longer approved.

A new version of the Fibrelight Ladder. Strong, stable, lightweight, compact, reversible and contains no metal parts. The wide vertical webbings improve stability in use and spread the load when mounted on or over an inflated sponson.

The Fibrelight “2” Escape Ladder is designed to meet this requirement.

Size: Length 1.5 metres, width 600mm. Other lengths produced to order.

• Strong, compact, lightweight and can be loaded in both directions.

Code: MF808

The standard ladder is orange and double ended.

• Width 600mm, rung spacing at 250mm.

The Fibrelight Cradle is a new and versatile man overboard recovery system designed primarily for use by small rescue craft, rigid inflatables and ships' lifeboats. Manufactured from PU coated polyester webbing and reinforced with carbon fibre rods, the Fibrelight Cradle is tough, durable, lightweight and easy to handle; it is 1.3m wide by 3m long and weighs approximately 5kg. The Fibrelight Cradle has many different applications however its primary function is that of a system to recover casualties from the water in the medically preferred horizontal position. To rescue a casualty in this way the cradle is secured at the inboard end and the outboard end is held outwards by hand, boat hook or bridle depending on the size of the craft. The casualty is then guided on to the cradle and the outboard end is hauled up, bringing them safely on board. Once recovered the casualty can be kept in the cradle if necessary, for use as a stretcher. In addition to this application the Fibrelight Cradle can be used as a scramble net or boarding ladder to climb into the boat or disembark safely in an emergency, and can assist with casualty recovery from trenches, ditches and other similar locations. • SOLAS approved • Can be supplied with floats attached to the outboard end • Comes complete with a storage bag • Available in any size based on a nominal 200mm vertical spacing • Tough and durable - no corrosion or degradation in sea water • Lower maintenance • Compact - easy to roll up for storage

Manufactured from hardwearing ripstop fabric the Rescue Throw Bag is a must have item. • 10.5mm floating rope • Reinforced mesh bottom provides good ventilation for drying • 306 Reflective markings • Dual layer construction with buoyancy foam insert • Drawstring top with toggle fastener and rope loop • Compact size for easy stowage • Twin guide belt loops & lash tabs • Care and instructions printed on the side • Reinforced hand loop • Replacement rope available Sizes: 15m, 20m and 25m.

security buccaneer Buccaneer The instability of failed or failing states is increasingly spilling out into the maritime environment. Threats of terrorism, criminal acts and piracy are impacting upon marine business to a greater extent than ever before. Recognising that the world military naval forces cannot be everywhere at once BCB International has developed a non lethal counter measure to acts of piracy. The Buccaneer has been designed as a light weight air pressurized launcher to deter and defeat small fast sea craft at long range. Capable of reaching ranges of up to 850 meters the Buccaneer’s specialised projectiles layer entangling netted lines across the surface of the water disabling outboard engines as they wrap around the prop. The Buccaneer can be used from shore locations such as harbour installations, on offshore Platforms or from on board ships. The Buccaneer is extremely flexible; Mounted on a slew ring it can be manually directed to face any area of threat through 360 degrees. Alternatively it can be locked in place and operated remotely from up to 300 meters away – for example from the bridge or other safe area. Alternative projectiles such as high visibility smoke and splash projectiles can be used for maximum deterrence. Recovery lines, individual lifeboats, lifejackets and buoyancy aids can also be launched from the Buccaneer. • Gimbal & Slew ring – 360 degree arc • High Vis smoke & splash projectiles • Entangling Line projectiles • Magazine system, for multiple successive use – quick to reload Code: BUC001
