British Community in Thailand Foundation for the Needy

The British community has been supporting Thai charities since 1941. This support was formalised and Foundation status was granted in 1999 with all funds raised distributed to Thai charities throughout the country.

Funds are raised each year at our famous Ploenchit Fair and used to provide basic necessities and equipment to help improve health care, nutrition, education, agricultural projects, the disabled and self help schemes.

The very first Fair was held at the British Embassy on Ploenchit Road, and this annual Fair still raises the majority of the BCTFN funds. The Fair is supported by our loyal sponsors and donors and is organised and run by an army of volunteers. For this we are very thankful.

Over the last two years we were unable to hold our Ploenchit Fair. However despite this, we managed to continue helping and supporting our Charities throughout these extremely difficult pandemic times.

In 2022 we have helped many including:

• Baan Bang Boon – helping to supply this hospice for elderly HIV patients with necessary items

• Good Shepherd Sisters, Bangkok – supplies and equipment to make clothing and items for sale in their Fatima shop and around the world

• Philanthropy Foundation, Chiang Mai – supplies of books and stationery for remote schools

• Foundation for the Disabled – working together with locals to build suitable toilets for the disabled

• Good Shepherd Sisters, Nongkhai - a self help project for raising fish and the cultivation of vegetables

• WildFlower Home – helping to keep vulnerable mothers and babies safe

WITH YOUR HELP WE WILL CONTINUE THROUGH 2023 THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
