Recent and Current School Attendance
The BCSD annually publishes the 135-day average daily attendance to report on the active number of students attending each public school at that time of the school year. Comparing the attendance over a period of time provides a snapshot of publicschool enrollment trends for the various schools. Since the change in 2018-19, school enrollment across all four schools has remained relatively steady, with the exception of the elementary schools As seen in FIGURE 36, Hanahan Elementary had enrollment consistently over one thousand students until 2018-19 when due to the service changes, students were reallocated so that all students who live in Hanahan, remained in Hanahan for school, altering enrollment numbers. Hanahan Elementary experienced the largest change in enrollment from its peak in 2015-16 (1,168 students) to its lowest in 2021-22 (870 students).
