PROJECT Movie Poster
Assignment Create a visually stimulating movie poster that incorporates the use of imagery and typography. Any movie may be replicated. Students are encouraged to create a poster that is unique in its’ visual appearance but may incorporates aspects from existing posters/work found online or in the project slide show.
Purpose Students will display the skills they have acquired in Illustrator and Photoshop through the creation of movie poster.
Image(s): Any images used must be created by the designer. Images my be Illustration, photography, paintings, mixed medium, etc. Make sure to set the resolution of the files in photoshop to 300. The files will be large, so they will need to be scaled and reduced prior to online submission, but will lend themselves to high quality prints. Typography: Each movie poster should include: title, subheading, actors and actresses, movie quotes or reviews, movie rating, length, commentary, and production information. The information can be found online or on a movie case. Printing: The oversized files will be printed out of Illustrator. Files will be tiled and taped together. See “Printing Directions” for more information. (2 - 11”x 17” prints.) FORMAT (1) 16” x 20” poster will be printed out of Illustrator and tiled for printing.
