OUR METHODOLOGY We help you develop your English through real-life communication tasks. You study the grammar and vocabulary that you need for effective communication. By increasing your knowledge of language, and through constant practice, you will speak English more accurately and fluently, and will be able to express more complex ideas. We emphasise pronunciation to help you speak and to understand fast spoken English.
WHAT ADULT COURSES DO YOU OFFER?

General English
We offer development opportunities for individuals, educational institutions, and government and business in the following areas: Arts, Culture and Creativity, Education and English Language, Governance, and Information about the UK.
IELTS preparation
Business English
British Council offers modular General English Courses for adults from Beginners to Upper-Intermediate level. General English courses are designed to help you to use English more confidently and more effectively in day to day situations. Courses use a task-based syllabus which promotes the learning of a language through performing real-life communicative tasks in the language. General English courses are modular, and you can join the course at any point in the cycle. You progress from one module to the next and your teacher will recommend you move to the next level when you are ready.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I AM MAKING PROGRESS? At the beginning of each term, you will receive a list of “can do” statements for that module. These describe what you will learn to do in English during your course. Through the course tasks, you will have the opportunity to assess your own performance, with your teacher’s guidance. Your teacher will assess your progress overall throughout the course, based upon your use of English during the formal tasks, and in two writing assessments.
Business Skills
We also prepare special courses for groups from organisations.
There skills-based course are designed to help you to use English more confidently and more effectively in a range of work-related situations. Business related topics (e.g. marketing and finance) and realistic work-place situations and contexts help you develop the language skills and vocabulary that you need to enhance your future career prospects. You don’t need to know a lot about business to join the course, but you should have some experience of the world of work.

ADULT COURSES PORTFOLIO We offer IELTS Courses for adults and young adults aged over 16 at three levels: Pre-Intermediate Higher, Intermediate, and Upper-Intermediate.
IELTS courses are designed to help improve your knowledge of the type of academic English used in the exam, and at the higher levels, to build your awareness of the strategies you should use to approach it.

D Our Skills Courses are designed to develop your communication skills in the workplace, which include Business Writing skills, Report Writing skills and Presentation skills. Business Writing skills courses will develop students’ ability to deal with a range of modern business correspondence. They combine a product and process approach to the development of writing skills. Completion of homework will help to gain the maximum benefit from this course. Report Writing skills courses will develop students’ ability to approach the writing of reports in an organised and professional

manner. The skills and language necessary to produce high-quality reports are practised and developed on these courses. These courses will help students to understand appropriate report format and to compose more structured reports. Presentation skills courses aim to give students the language, skills and practice in making presentations on a variety of topics. Students will be provided with the appropriate language, given opportunities to develop presentation skills, and receive feedback and guidance for further improvement.

HOW TO REGISTER 1. Contact our Customer Services staff to book a placement test 2. Take a placement test which consists of a 30-40 minute writing test followed by a 5-minute interview 3. Register and pay for the course 4. Start the course
DISCOUNT We offer • a 10% loyalty discount to individuals from the fourth term of study onwards • a free place for every 10 people sent by organisations • a 10% discount to members of the UK Alumni in Vietnam and their immediate family members
PAYMENT METHOD Course fees are paid before the course starts. Payment can be made in cash or by credit card in Vietnam dong at the British Council office or by bank transfer to the British Council bank account. Any bank charges for payment via bank transfer shall be incurred by the customer.
REFUND POLICY In case of the cancellation of a course, you will receive a full refund. You must keep the original receipt in order to obtain this refund. When processing a refund, we will ask you to provide us with your bank account information by completing a refund form. We will then transfer the money into your bank account within one month. If you wish to cancel your course registration for any other reason, you should complete a course fee refund request, before the first class. You will receive a refund by bank transfer as described above, but you will be charged an administration fee of 400,000 VND. Please note that course fees cannot be refunded after the day of the first class.
CHANGING CLASS It may be possible for you to transfer to a different class at the same level if there are places available. However, no changes will be allowed after the registration penod is closed.
