Call for Papers
Assessment and Evaluation 6-8 July 2011, Kuala Lumpur Potential speakers are encouraged to submit proposals for workshops and presentations as soon as possible but no later than 15 April 2011.
Target audience The symposium audience will consist of the following groups: • • • • • •
Decision makers from Ministries, universities and business Researchers in education International speakers and delegates Teachers’ Association representatives Professionals interested in and responsible for the assessment of young people Professionals interested in and responsible for the evaluation of programmes
Symposium themes Proposals are invited for presentations on the following themes:
Assessment of/for learning • The relationship between formative and summative assessment • The assessment of content being learned through English • The development of national examinations
Programme evaluation • The development of a framework for large scale programme evaluation • The implications of programme evaluation
Assessment/testing literacies • Training for test developers • Teacher competence/readiness for assessing learners Teacher assessment • Standards/competencies for teachers • Assessing teaching

Fees The speaker registration fee is as follows: MYR350.00 | GBP70.00 | USD120.00 Fee includes registration, symposium pack, refreshments, lunch and post-symposium proceedings. Accommodation is not included but a list of accommodation will be available from 1 April 2011.
Please note that: 1. We are unable to reimburse speakers for expenses. All speakers are required to register for the symposium and pay the appropriate symposium registration fee by Telegraphic Transfer or MYR cheque payable to British Council - please refer to the registration form for more details. 2. If required, all speakers are responsible for obtaining their own visas for Malaysia. Should your proposal be accepted, invitation letters will be organised. 3. All speakers and delegates will be issued with a certificate of participation.

There are only 100 spaces available for the symposium. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
