Wednesday, June 26

BCIT is located on the unceded territory of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.

BCIT has been educating and inspiring students for over half a century on these traditional lands and for that, we are grateful. We acknowledge that the relationship with Indigenous peoples in Canada has been troubled and must be reconciled; we are deeply committed to working with our partners to advance reconciliation.

A message from our Board Chair and President

Our heartfelt congratulations go out to you, our graduates, on this remarkable academic achievement.

This year is particularly special as it marks BCIT’s 60th year of delivering flexible, relevant, and future-proof education to our learners. As a graduate of BCIT, you have played a significant role in helping us deliver on our vision of empowering people, shaping BC, and inspiring global progress. We are honoured to celebrate this milestone with you during your Convocation.

We applaud you for your dedication and commitment to your education. Take pride in how far you have come and embrace the journey that lies ahead.

We also want to thank all the supporters – family, friends, faculty, and staff – who have guided you throughout your studies.

As you embark on the next chapter of your life, we hope that you use the knowledge, skills, and values you have gained during your time at BCIT. We hope that you continue to be a part of the BCIT community and stay connected with us – upgrade your skills, attend alumni events, join advisory committees, or even consider becoming a faculty member.

We look forward to witnessing the impact you make in the community and beyond.

On behalf of all of us at BCIT, congratulations, and we wish you great success in your future endeavors!

A message from our Alumni Association President

Congratulations and welcome to the BCIT Alumni Association!

As BCIT’s newest alumni, you are now part of more than 205,000 BCIT alumni who are making a huge impact right here in BC and around the world. BCIT alumni are everywhere, in every sector, conquering today’s complex world, and inspiring all of us to imagine new solutions for the future. It’s what we do best and why we are highly respected and sought by employers across BC, Canada, and beyond.

Now it’s your time for you to shine and show the world what BCIT grads can do.

Today, on your convocation day, I am pleased to welcome you to the BCIT Alumni Association. As I step into my role as the Association’s new President, I am committed to helping you succeed in your career and invite you to stay connected with your Alumni Association to gain access to alumni-exclusive benefits and events.

Remember also to stay in touch with your fellow alumni and your instructors! These are the people who can be a key network of support to you throughout your career.

Congratulations, graduates! We’re looking forward to seeing what you accomplish next.
