5.4. Guest Speakers Education Council Report: Jennifer Leaman A new program - Digital Print Media in the School of Business has been approved by EdCo. It will now go to the BOG for final approval. The nursing program wants to modify Policy 5002: Student Conduct. Students would only be allowed to fail their practicum once compared to twice in other programs. The main reason is safety. Jennifer invites everyone to contact any of the EdCo student representatives if they have any questions about the policy.
Questions: Lea-Ann would like to know if there is a policy with regard to having a large test and a lab from the same course in one day. Jennifer will look into this, however believes this is allowed. Ashley states that the only existing policy surrounding such issues states a minimum time between final exams. Ashley invites all students to read more about Policy 5002 on the BCIT website.

Still amassing the contact and program information for all set reps and tech reps. Began forming Group’s in GroupWise, will be finished by Tuesday. Due to venue issues, moving possible date to Spring sometime, but looks like it will be a go. Ashley brought to our attention that his uncle is an expert in this field. We will be setting up a meeting to discuss how we can make the students more aware of how it works and pitfalls to watch out for. Still trying to get the word out about how effective being a part of Toastmasters can be and recruit more members. Post-Mortem – getting all of the money counted so we have a final total
