Question Period Jason: Can you apply to be a councillor if you are not from that School. No. Only students from that School can become councillors as they act as representatives for that specific School. Sam: Who is responsible for the advertising in the washroom at SE 12? There are noise sensors that are very annoying, and have started to be vandalized. Caroline will inform BCIT marketing, as they are the ones responsible for advertising on campus. Jason: How do you get on the Board of Governors? Election is held in the spring for the upcoming year. There is one student position available while the second one is appointed to the BCITSA president. Jennette: What is Shinerama? How many are signed up? How many volunteers are needed? Irina explains that the amazing race raises funds for Cystic Fibrosis. 75 team are expected to sign-up. Teams can register on line, SA office, and BCIT recreation services. We need about 100 volunteers, which can contact Irina directly to register. Thomas N.: How much does it cost to register? It cost $20 per person. The fee gives you registration to the amazing race and free lunch. Leanne: If people cannot participate in the amazing race, how can they contribute? People can contribute through pledge forms. People donating $15 and over will receive a tax receipt. There is also a BBQ on Wednesday from 11:30 to 1:30pm and a car wash on Wednesday in campus square from 1:30 to 3:30pm. Emily: Are prizes involved and what are the activities? There are 5 activities in the amazing race and a multitude of prizes base on time and donation raised.
