BCIT Student Association BCIT Student Association It is the mandate of the BCIT Student Association (BCITSA) to be an advocate for students. We pick up where BCIT leaves off; we provide services such as community, leadership, and support. But most importantly, we are here to give students a voice. Our goal is to unite the students of today into a strong and vibrant community while providing them with the best possible services to aid them in their success. Autonomous from BCIT, the BCITSA is incorporated as a not-for-profit society that represents BCIT students. Each year BCIT students elect a team of student leaders to represent their interests to BCIT and external groups. The BCITSA Student Executive along with the BCITSA Student Council governs the affairs of the Association.

BCITSA Programming The BCITSA is committed to providing BCIT students with a wide array of leadership and development opportunities. Whether as a student executive, club member, volunteer, student councillor, or set reps, the BCITSA is focused on students. The Uconnect Resource Centre offers students free computers and internet, peer tutoring, condoms, and programs like Crash Course Cooking, Harvest Box, and Peak Leadership. Located in the Uconnect is the Advocacy Office which helps students navigate through the policies and procedures that are laid out by BCIT, as well as to provide information, resources and support during the academic career.

BCITSA Services The BCITSA aims to be an advocate for students and provide services which are student-centered, responsive and pro-active in supporting and enhancing the quality of student life. The BCITSA owns and operates a number of businesses on campus that provide BCIT students with a variety of options. Students can grab an assortment of snacks at any of the three Stand convenience store locations, or they can sit down for a meal in Professor Mugs Pub. We also sell various school supplies at Geared Up, and the Stands Store at NE1 and SE12. The proceeds from our business services help provide funding for the BCITSA initiatives and use student fees more efficiently.
