What’s New For You?

Taster Week

Our annual Year 10 Burnley College Taster Week returns in June 2025. We love inviting your Year 10 students onto Campus to spend a morning or afternoon with us exploring their areas of their interest. Taster Week is a vital event in helping students to choose their next steps.

“Taster week is an invaluable experience for our students. They talk about it for weeks after. For a lot of students, it confirms their choices - they realise what their post-16 journey will be like in their chosen subjects and it sets a goal for them.

The wide variety of lessons gives aspiration to all students, especially those who did not consider college life previously.

The organisation of Taster Week is fantastic and the School Liaison Team provide great support. As career lead it also helps me track and achieve many Gatsby Benchmarks”

Class Session

We are excited to offer subject-specific masterclasses for your students. Taking place at Burnley College, they offer students the opportunity to visit our Campus and explore subjects in more depth, through fun and engaging activities.

Our range of masterclasses includes A Level Law, English and RE to Vocational Esports and Public Services.

Examples include a Public Services Masterclass which featured a dog handler who brought his dog, alongside exciting activities which inspired Students and immersed them in the world of Public Services.

“Over the last academic year some of our year 10 pupils have been lucky enough to take part in masterclasses at Burnley College. Each masterclass has been a great opportunity for students to experience what it would be like to study that particular subject and what Burnley College has to offer.

Every one of them thoroughly enjoyed their experience. I am looking forward to the next academic year working with Burnley College creating more fantastic experiences and opportunities for our students.”

ALS and Safeguarding

We want to build a stronger relationship with your school as a whole. By working closely as a collective we can ensure that your students get the best transition and support in preparation for College. To do this we want to build school profiles for SENDCO & DSL to collect any important information required for future students.

ESOL Pathways

For your pupils who don’t have English a first language, we have a hugely successful pathway to achieve an ESOL qualification.

The course is 1 year and starts in September.

Learn More Learn More

“On behalf of myself and the 3 schools I work with, thank you so much for this brilliant portal. As a Careers Advisor it makes my job so much easier being able to check up on applications at the touch of a button. It ensures I can support school leavers quickly and efficiently and helps me identify students who may be potential NEETS post-16. That only leaves me to wish you and the team that created this fantastic resource a lovely weekend, thanks again.”
