Funding is provided for low to moderate income Berwyn homeowners to make necessary repairs to their homes. Funds are used to replace roofs, gutters, soffit-fascia, HVAC, windows, tuck-pointing, etc. Funds are also used for electrical and plumbing upgrades and ADA accommodations/modifications.

Erie House is a social services nonprofit offering comprehensive services in West Town, Little Village, Humboldt Park, Back of the Yards, Berwyn, and the Near West Side, encompassing legal services, children & youth programs, adult education & training, mental health & community wellness, and community resources & empowerment. Latinas On the Plaza became a 501C3 non-profit organization in 2015 with a focus on accelerating the pathway to success for women of color. They will be offering three programs in the fall for children, Little Arrows I for girls in Preschool-Kindergarten, Little Arrows II for girls in first grade, and Little Arrows III for girls in second grade. These programs aid in allowing young girls to become aware of who they are and how they have control over thier behavior to build kindness and strength. The Children’s Center of Cicero Berwyn is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit that provides a nurturing, developmentally appropriate atmosphere for children, and supports parents and caregivers in their critical role as their child’s first teacher. They provide educational, play-based childcare, full and half day Head Start and Preschool for all classrooms and home-based, child development, and parenting programs. All programs are bilingual! Most programs are FREE to qualifying families.

Saint Mary of Celle, a program of Maryville Academy, opened in June 2022 to help parenting teen mothers. This program will benefit parenting youth who are getting ready to move to a transitional or independent living program or foster carwe placement with their child. They’re rooted in Catholic social teaching and strengthen families. They support the children to reach their fullest potential by empowering their intellectual, spiritual, moral and emotional growth.
