Priority Goal 3 and Associated Strategies Area for improvement and supporting data: Our 2011-12 math scores indicate that 90% of our students are proficient. Due to the new Common Core and Essential Standards curriculum there are new Annual Measurable Objectives (AMO) for the 2012-2013 school year. Our goal for the 2012-2013 school year is to meet the new AMO targets which are: All students: 85.2%, White students: 91.2%, SWD: 63.6%, and Economically Disadvantaged Students: 78.3%.

Goal 3 Improvement Strategies – Identify research-based strategies whenever possible. Strategy: To incorporate the 8 Mathematical Practices Based on the Common Core Standards Action steps: 1. Teachers will differentiate and provide small group instruction based on student ability levels

2. Teachers use Universal Screening and ClassScape Assessment to identify struggling students. Title I Interventionist will work with Strategy 1: selected high risk math students in grades 3-5.
5. Principal, Assistant Principal and CSI Walk Through 6. Quarterly planning days will be provided for each grade level. Nine week plans will be produced and turned in to the principal and CSI.
3. Teachers will use manipulatives and hands-on activities to engage students and promote independent thinking skills.
7. K-5 Math Parent Nights will be implemented to share math strategies. IXL Math will be shared on all grade levels during the math parent night.
4.Students will be provided additional instruction based on ClassScape scores in grades 3-5. Daytime and Afterschool Tutoring will be provided for students struggling in math.
8. Study Island will be utilized for enrichment and remediation during the school day and after school.
Strategy: To increase the proficiency in math of SWD. Action steps:
1. Classroom Teachers identify at risk students. 2. Classroom Teachers will collaborate with EC Strategy 2: teacher reviewing IEP goals and modifications. 3. Classroom Teachers will identify areas of universal screening that are deficient and share with EC teacher. 4. In collaboration with the classroom teacher the EC teacher will provide remedial help to students.
