24 2022 OFFICIAL MAINE LOBSTER FESTIVAL PROGRAM

2022 Fine Arts and Craft Tent Bigger and better than ever, the Maine Art Tent and Craft Tent join forces in one large tent at the north end of the Festival grounds. See all of the beautiful works of art in one area, and enjoy talking with our local artists and craftspeople. There are ongoing demonstrations throughout the day. It is one of the must-see at the Maine Lobster Festival. Many artists and craftspeople will be selling their wares, so take home some Maine memories.

SUSAN & RICHARD JOHNSON

from Camden Pottery and Johnson Gallery in Rockland, Maine, exhibit their works in the Maine Arts and Craft Tent. Richard and Susan, both retired Oceanside High School art teachers, have been involved with the Maine Lobster Festival for over 46 years. Richard demonstrates his sculpture and pottery wheel work in the Art/Craft tent. The 75th Maine Lobster Festival will bring the sculpting of an additional life-sized clay mermaid. The group of mermaids is located at their home and studio on Lake Avenue in Rockland. Susan exhibits her watercolor and oil paintings inspired by the Maine coast as well as a series of live and cooked lobster works.

PAISLEY MADE nautical

designs will be a new addition to the 2022 Maine Lobster Festival. The nautical-themed creations range from handmade wooden signs and crates, beautiful magnets, and Lobster glassware. Founder Margaret Morrill Paisley grew up in Rockland/Spruce Head and now lives and teaches in Portland Maine. One of her biggest passions is nautical creations. All of her items are inspired by her picturesque childhood in Spruce Head, Maine.

JOHN KENDALL lost the

sight in his right eye in 2021. For the past 25 years, he has created original work while looking through someone else’s donor cornea. He discussed with his eye surgeon that if his eye no longer worked, his plan was to add intense color and Max-

field Parrish inspired skies to his former highly detailed works. John now offers exciting NEW versions of his scenes, which he creates as he looks through his good left eye, as signed & numbered editions of 750 giclees each. Please stop by his booth in the Art Tent as he, once again, is selling his “Maine Windjammers & Lighthouses” and his TALL SHIP series during his 30th year at the Festival.

KAREN TALBOT is a
