From Boston to The British Home - For 89 Year Old Beryl Burridge, It’s a Wonderful Life By Terry Miller “The kettle’s on”, said Berly Burridge the moment we arrived for our interview at the British Home last week. Her good friend and number one fan Janet Swanson offers us home made cookies and sweets as Beryl offers something I used to love growing up in England, good olde sausage rolls. Matheson was sentenced in a Canadian court to 108 days last week for possessing and smuggling child pornography across an international border.

by susan motander The Monrovia City Council voted to appoint Larry Spicer to fill the seat of

Council Member Clarence Shaw while he is on active duty with the military. California Code regarding the rights of military personnel allows the council to appoint a temporary replacement only, but does not require them to do so. Since Shaw’s activation in July the Council has been operating with only four voting members. On December 1, at a special council meeting, the group was deadlocked 2-2 on a vote regarding the city’s parks program. This tie prompted Council Mem-
