RE路DE路FINED This collection challenges the conventions and approaches in the methods of design and pattern making in the current ready to wear fashion industry. It questions what defines an aspect of a garment, the reasons for the placement of seams, and why certain methodologies are used in the creation of a garment. Looking at how the use of blocks separates the body into parts, and juxtaposing this against the method of draping for a moving body, REDEFINED is a combination of both techniques. A process of going b e t w e e n 2 D a n d 3 D, a u n i q u e m e t h o d o l o g y o f d e s i g n i n g in the make was employed to create this collection. A piece of fabric with minimal cut lines creates the silhouette, while the designs are crafted through the use of elastic bands and ties, anchoring in specific areas of the fabric. The different effects of drape are a result of the various fabrications used, with the softer lightweight fabric being juxtaposed against heavier structured fabric. This helps to highlight the relationship between fabric and the body. Through this collection, I hope to create awareness of the design process, while challenge and promote conscious thinking in through the unique design methodology of the

a greater trying to consumers garments.
