special news beatson cancer charity mri sees first patient

We are pleased to let you know the MRI Suite has been operational since late April at The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and patients are being scanned daily.

This would not have been possible without our amazing supporters. The Beatson will be able to build and adapt treatments for people in ways that haven’t been possible before.

Working in partnership with the NHS, this has given Beatson Cancer Charity the opportunity to improve the lives of over 20,000 people over the next decade. At the end of May, we hosted an event to celebrate this milestone for the charity and NHS GGC, attended by Humza Yousaf, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care. You can watch a walk-through of the MRI suite on our YouTube channel. This will introduce you to some of the staff who will run and deliver the service alongside a tour of the suite.

“i hope this technology will encourage people to approach treatment knowing that there can be a life after cancer.”
