CEO, Beatson Cancer Charity

We’re with you

Hello everyone,

It’s Summertime and I am pleased to report that the charity is busier than ever! It has been quite a challenge to select the key highlights for you within this newsletter as there have been many.

In this edition, we would like to raise awareness of the wonderful work generated by our funding and grants programme. This is an area of growth within the charity and we have a wide variety of projects on the go. We are also anticipating the cautious return of patients to our Wellbeing Centre and we cannot underestimate the value of this service. I am particularly happy that live charity events have been reinstated, from our Glasgow Ladies Lunch through to large participation events such as the Kiltwalk. The amount of money raised through our community and corporate circles in the first six months of 2022 has been simply quite staggering.

I want to thank every single supporter who has contributed to the charity, whether it is from dining at our unique partnership restaurant, BEAT 6, through to donating to our latest Spring Appeal.

A few weeks ago, we hosted another milestone event for the charity, with the opening of the MRI Suite. This technology is ground-breaking for cancer care in Scotland and cements our close partnership with the NHS.

Over the next few weeks we will also be refurbishing our offices into a more welcoming space for supporters and staff.

We want to thank everyone who took part for Beatson Cancer Charity. Over £144k was raised by our 330 dedicated supporters donning their Beatson T-shirts - it was a wonderful sight!
