Apply now for Beaumont’s Design Review Committee Urban design is about the placement and design of new buildings and the spaces between them. Since the 1980s, the City has deliberately encouraged French design through the French Village Design Guidelines. Today, the design guidelines are more inclusive, easier to work with, and focus on the values and qualities that make this place unique and attractive. Come help developers and builders working in Beaumont understand the values and qualities that make this place unique and remarkable. The City is currently looking for design professionals, development industry, and members of the community to be part of the Design Review Committee. If you are a passionate community builder who is interested in giving back to your community, then consider joining this important committee. This committee is a voluntary, skills-based panel that provides expert and impartial design advice on proposed developments. The members of this committee help ensure the ongoing development of attractive buildings that reflect Beaumont’s French heritage and our city’s evolving role as an urban centre. Applications are open from June 23 to August 15. For more information, visit beaumont.ab.ca/committees.
