Phase 1 - Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a use of the Community Centre Lower Level Space, Town of Beaumont EOI – 2016 - 01 Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Individuals, Community Groups, Business Ventures, or Economic Development Opportunities for the Community Centre located at 5204B – 50 Avenue, Beaumont AB. The Town of Beaumont has recently completed the Centre Communautaire Beaumont Community Centre (CCBCC) and is interested in accepting proposals for the approximately 7,500 sq. ft. lower level space (Appendix A). A number of individuals/community groups/business ventures/economic development providers have expressed interest in leasing the space at the new Facility. In order to maintain a fair and transparent process, the Town is accepting EOI proposals from qualified organizations and businesses for the lease of this space. Proposals will be reviewed and rated on the best overall fit for the Facility as well as the proposal that provides the best overall value to the community. The Town of Beaumont is Requesting Expression of Interest from individuals/community groups/business ventures/economic development providers for leasing the Community Centre lower level as a year round operation. The space is suitable for a diverse range of activities and uses. Interested proponents are asked to provide a brief description of the services and / or activities, experience and qualifications to deliver services out of the Community Centre. In your submission for a tenant lease opportunity, please include:  a brief description of your business or service;  experience and qualifications;  proposed lease budget; and  the type of business / service you would be operating out of the Community Centre. Please note: proponents are responsible for any permits, licences and approvals required for their venture. This is a Two (2) part process: 

Phase 1 – Express of Interest as described in this document. Successful proponents will be invited to participate in Phase 2;

Phase 2 – Successful proponents will be invited to provide a more detailed Proposal through the forthcoming Request for Proposal process that will require a more


detailed proposal. Only those proponents invited to participate in the Request for Proposal process will be included in this phase of the project. Submission Requirements 1. This EOI is not to exceed FIVE (5) pages excluding the cover page, brochures, promotion material and dividers. Identify clearly the name of the business or organization. 2. The Proponents may submit brochures and other promotion materials, but only under a separate appendix. 3. TWO (2) original bound documents are required. 4. Required modifications of the Community Centre Lower level to operate your idea. 5. Proposed dates of execution of your idea (public opening date). 6. Proposed budget for leasing the Community Centre. 7. Expectation on the Town of Beaumont – i.e., financial, construction, etc. EOI’s will be evaluated on the overall value to the Town and the Community as a whole. All EOI’s will be evaluated by the Community Centre Advisory Committee, Town Staff and are subject to the Approval of Council. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all EOI’s, to waive defects in any submitted documents, and to accept any offer which it may consider to be in the best interest of the Town. Any proposal or bid will not necessarily be accepted. A site visit will be conducted on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. All interested parties are advised to attend. Site drawings are available by visiting the Town’s website at www.beaumont.ab.ca or may be purchased at the Town Hall for $1.00 per page (11” x 17”).
