Notice of Election and Requirements for Voter Identification Local Authorities Election Act (Sections 12, 35, 46, 53)

LOCAL JURISDICTION: TOWN OF BEAUMONT, ALBERTA Notice is hereby given that an election will be held for the filling of the following offices: Mayor: Councillor: Public School Trustee: Catholic School Trustee:

Voting will take place on the 16th day of October, 2017, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Voting will take place at the Beaumont Community Centre, 5204 50 Avenue, Beaumont, Alberta. In order to vote, you must produce identification for inspection. The identification must be one or more of photo identification with their name and address, issued by a Canadian government (ie. Operator/driver’s license) or government photo identification card; or one piece of required identification authorized by the Local Authorities Election Act, including the following examples: • • • • • • • • • • • • •

Photo identification issued by a Canadian government or agency, whether federal, provincial or local; Bank/credit card statement or personal cheque; Correspondence issued by a school, college or university; Government cheque or cheque stub; Income/property tax assessment notice; Insurance policy or coverage card; Letter from a public curator, public guardian or public trustee; Pension Plan statement of benefits, contributions or participation; Residential lease or mortgage statement; Statement of government benefits: e.g. Employment insurance, old-age security, social assistance, disability support, or child tax benefit; Utility bill: e.g. Telephone, public utilities commission, television, electricity, gas or water; Vehicle ownership, registration or insurance certificate; or A letter or form (attestation) confirming that the person lives at the stated address. The letter can be signed by any of the following: o authorized representative of a commercial property management company; o authorized representative of a correctional institution; o authorized representative of a First Nations band or reserve; o authorized representative of a post-secondary institution; o authorized representative of a facility that provides services to the homeless; or o authorized representative of a supportive living facility or treatment centre;
