Early Learning Child Care Supervisor Update We hope you all had a wonderful summer and welcome to all the new families joining our center. September is always a busy month for us and we ask for your patience as we get into our routines with room movement, new children starting, and kindergarten bussing. In this issue, we are introducing all the staff that work here so you can get to know them! In an effort to establish boundaries and maintain professionalism, we ask that parents refrain from “friend requesting” staff on social media. Just a few reminders:  Scholastic book orders will be starting again. Orders are due by the 15th of each month, payable by cheque only, no cash or you can pay directly on-line through scholastic.  Sick policy: If we have to send your child home due to illness, fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, they must be symptom free for 24 hours prior to returning to the Center; otherwise a doctor’s note will be required. This is a licensing policy and we are expected to adhere to it.  Please contact the room staff if your child will not be attending on any given day through email, by texting the room cell phone or calling the land line.

Thank you to all the families who were able to join us for the Theater Presentation and Family Picnic on August 24th, we had a great time! We also want to thank you for all the heartfelt words, cards, emails, gifts, flowers and lunch room treats. The year went by way too fast and we appreciate all the acknowledgement for a job well done! If you have any questions or concerns, please connect with the staff in your child’s room or contact me. Have a great month. Jodie Vesso 780-929-1263 Jodie.vesso@beaumont.ab.ca Individual room contact information: Parents can send an e-mail, send a text or call the main room line to report an absence or to communicate with staff regarding your child. Sunshine Room Early Learning Child Care

Tendai—Early Childhood Program Coordinator Stephanie—Early Childhood Program Assistant

Tendai: I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, which is a country in the southern part of Africa. I have my Bachelor’s Degree and Early childhood Level 3 certification. I am married with three beautiful children. My vision and goals are to give children a great start in life by providing high quality care and education for young children while having a co-partner with families. I strongly feel that what I teach must have a broad, deep and relevant quality that addresses the needs of children in this day and age. I believe that what you teach children may affect them for a while but how you make them feel will affect them for a lifetime.

Stephanie: .My name is Stephanie Beaudoin. I am 22 years old and have been employed at the Town of Beaumont Child Care Center since I was 16 years old. I graduated from the Early Learning and Child Care program at MacEwan University in June 2015 and have been employed here ever since. I have lived in Beaumont since I was 2 years old but purchased a home here with my boyfriend, Tayler, in November 2016. Tayler and I also adopted a pitbull cross, named Kingston, from a local rescue and he’s been the best addition to our little family. When I’m not at work you can find me spending quality time with my dog and boyfriend. We love taking Kingston on long car rides to new exciting places to explore or taking him to the lake and letting him swim and tube with us (wearing his life jacket of course). I am so excited to start this new adventure in the Sunshine Room. It’ll be quite the change from 5-6 year olds but I am up for the challenge. I am really looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you in this coming year together.

Laura—Early Childhood Program Coordinator Kristi—Early Childhood Program Assistant

Green Room Laura: Hi I'm Laura and I currently work in the Green Room alongside Kristi! Kristi and I have been working together for the past two years and we can't wait for another fun year in the Green Room. I received my Level 3 certification through Red Deer College and I've been working at the Child Care Centre for the past 10 years with most of my time being spent between the Green Room and the Rainbow Room. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and your children this upcoming year, if you have any questions about our room please don't hesitate ask. Here's to another great year of lots of learning, laughter, and growth.

Kristi: Cheers everyone! My name is Kristi and I have had the pleasure of working in the Green Room with Laura for the last few years. Laura and I work hard together to create a safe and caring space for the children to learn, explore and grow. We love celebrating all of the everyday “little things" and look forward to getting to know our new families. We are super approachable and welcome your comments and input. You know your children best and we would like to be an extension of their ever growing village! My background is a diploma as a rehabilitation practioner as well as my certification in early childhood education. I worked for Black Gold School Division for ten years in elementary education, early education and pre-kindergarten with funded children before moving to the Town of Beaumont ELCC in 2010. I have worked in both the Kinder room and the Green room and consider myself extremely blessed to be able to facilitate a true early childhood philosophy where we plan according to the children's interests, learn through play ( clean and messy!!), support open ended art and sensory experiences and encourage loose parts to be a part of everyday play! I wish everyone a wonderful year!!

SCHOOL AGE SITE

Supervisor, Chris Kruk Program Coordinator, Shirley Webster Program Assistant, Karissa George Program Assistant, Jamie Scott Program Assistant, Ingrid Holtz Program Support, Karen Hanchurak & Ariunaa Tsend

This summer has gone by so fast. It’s hard to believe that school is starting again. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the holidays. We would like to welcome the new grade 1’s that have moved down from the ELCC. Parents please feel free to ask any questions that you may have to any of the staff. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible for all. This summer we had many fun filled days and lots of field trips. If you have time when dropping off or picking up your child, please watch the TV screen and you will see all that we did. A few reminders for the beginning of the school year:  The children need to have a hat and water bottle kept here at the site. The afternoons are still nice and we go outside as much as possible.  Also a pair of indoor shoes are to be kept here. Each child has a little cubie labeled with their name. Outdoor shoes are kept on the shelves in the entrance of the building. It would also be a good idea to put your child’s name on them as many have the same shoes. This is especially helpful in the winter with boots. There have been many times that someone has gone home with the wrong pair of boots by mistake.  Also check if your child’s shoes still fit. Many of the children have grown quite a bit over the summer. We would like to update our family wall so please send us a new family photo. You can email them to Chris.Kruk@beaumont.ab.ca, Shirley.Webster@beaumont.ab.ca or Jamie.Scott@beaumont.ab.ca If your child will not be attending the School Age Site for any reason please let us know. You contact us at the following numbers The landline at 780-929-2190, The Cell phone at 780-862-7803 or text at 780-862-7803 Have a great month SAS We would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the following: Rachel September 8 Torin September 13 Jared September 14 Logan September 17 Hayden September 17 Seth P.
