Fitzroy is one of the coolest suburbs in the world and a playground for bourgeois hipsters, students, artists and everything in between.
Wheels’ unique two-bedroom apartment, complete with turret, is nestled on top of the old ‘Champion Hotel’, an iconic building in Fitzroy with a rich past. But it’s a far cry from its glory days.
Wheels’ apartment is heritage listed, but its original features are all that are redeeming.

With a budget of 125k, Rosie and Paddy set out to capture the ethos of Fitzroy and the history that was The Champion Hotel.

With a budget of $140k, Rosie and Paddy need to weave some serious magic to get this one over the line.
Thankfully, with Richmond’s vibrant social lifestyle, proximity to the city, Botanical Gardens and the locals’ love of the area, there’s plenty of inspiration to draw on to create the ultimate buyer’s dream.
The biggest tactical move is the introduction of a second bathroom to the main bedroom, with the two bathrooms drawing upon the opposing nature of Richmond’s surrounding suburbs –a da rker matte finish for t he ensuite versus a light er gloss finish to the main bathroom.

Leichhardt, NSW
Scott and Meghann met and fell in love in Leichhardt and have lived in their 2-bed Victorian cottage for the better part of 14 years. Scott & Meghann’s cottage is currently valued at $1.5M, but to achieve their dream, they need $1.7M +. Rosie & Paddy have a $90K budget to make this happen, but before they can get started, they need to tap into the beating heart of Leichhardt in order to understand who’s buying here and what they’re looking for in a home.
Affectionately known as Sydney’s ‘Little Italy’ and just 5kms from the CBD, Leichhardt lives up to its reputation, with many Italian shops, cafés, and trattorias, and a strong community spirit still alive to this day.
Inspired by the surroundings, Rosie designs a bathroom that is much more focused on relaxation rather than a utility room. She removes the laundry and installs an oversized, sculptural bathtub and floor to ceiling tiles to create the illusion of endless space.
