Marquis is a family owned business that has been providing quality bathroom solutions for over 45 years. First established in 1979 in the NSW Hunter Valley, the name Marquis is famous for its design, quality and manufacturing technology.
Choosing a vanity
How much space do you have?
The vanity plays an integral role in the function of the bathroom and requires the space around it to function properly. Choose a spot that won’t block the bathroom door or shower door swing or mess with traffic flow.
Plan for plumbing and electrical
When choosing a wallmount or kick vanity, it’s important to consider the placement of your plumbing. Wall-hung vanities look fantastic as they give the illusion of more space but, drainage needs to go back into the wall, rather than the floor. Check with your plumber to see what will work for your space.
Doors vs drawer
Consider who will be using the bathroom and what storage will be required. Doors enable more storage space where as drawers are a stylish option that offers ease of use.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Marquis have endeavoured to make our bathroom furniture as water resistant as possible however we do advise it is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure the product is installed and maintained properly.
Cabinets
Use warm soapy water, Spray & Wipe or similar (sparingly) and apply with a soft cloth. Dry immediately.
Thermolaminated cabinets
Thermolaminated doors are made from a Moisture Resistant Medium Density Fibreboard (MR MDF) and as with any wood based panel cannot be made totally waterproof, care should be taken to wipe up spills immediately, ensuring the doors are not exposed to high or continuous levels of moisture, steam and humidity.
General cleaning
Wipe down using a damp soft cloth containing warm, soapy water. For more stubborn stains, use a mild household spray to wipe down the door or panel with a soft cloth taking care not to rub too hard. Dry using a soft cloth so as not to leave any residue on the door or panel. Always ensure that you refer to the recommendations provided by the cleaning product manufacturer before use.
To ensure that your warranty will not be void, DO NOT use any of the following on Thermolaminated doors & panels: Commercial Cleaning Products, Abrasive Cleaners, Scouring Pads or Abrasive Papers, Acids and Alkalis, Solvents, Thinners, Turpentine (Turps), Ammonia, Bleach, Acetone, Easy-Off BAM!, M.E.K. or any other cleaning agents containing organic solvents or the above mentioned products.
Avoid contact with sharp implements.
Vanity tops
With any vanity top it is advisable to avoid thermal shock to the basin. To counter this first run cold water into the basin, adding hot water to then reach the desired temperature.
Acrylic
Use warm soapy water, Spray & Wipe or similar (sparingly) and apply with a soft cloth. Surface scratches or scuff marks will buff out using a quality acrylic polish (eg. Jiff). Avoid contact with direct heat eg. hair straighteners and strong chemicals such as acetone, paint remover etc.
Symphony
Use warm soapy water, Spray & Wipe or similar (sparingly) and apply with a soft cloth. Surface scratches or scuff marks will buff out using a quality acrylic polish or mild abrasive cleaner (eg. Jiff). Some deeper scratches may be repairable under the guidance of your supplier or by a licensed acrylic repairer. While the surface is heat resistant do not place hot items directly onto the top (ie. hair straighteners etc). Extreme or prolonged heat can cause permanent damage. Also avoid contact with strong chemicals such as acetone, paint remover etc.

At Marquis we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in production methods and the quality of our furniture.
We offer a lifetime warranty on our hardware and we guarantee our product for life against any manufacturing fault that Marquis is responsible for. Some of our products or items used in production do have shorter warranty periods and they are listed below.

Marquis warranty applies to the Marquis range of vanities, mirrors, shaving cabinets, furniture and kitchens manufactured.
In the unlikely event that you identify a defect in the product that is attributable to manufacturing or materials, Marquis will rework or replace at our good will. (Please keep a copy of your proof of purchase).
Please ensure that the product is inspected before installation. If damage has occurred in transit and/or a visible defect exists, do not proceed with installation. Please contact the retailer you purchased the product from immediately. The warranty will be void if defective product is installed and damage occurs due to improper maintenance, miss handling, installation or use.
Marquis liability is limited to repair, replacing or a refund for the faulty goods, and it does not include installation and/ or any other trades services. Products are manufactured with high quality moisture resistant materials but are not waterproof. Excessive water and sunlight exposure and other environmental conditions will factor in our guarantee assessment.
All materials and componentry purchased by Marquis are of high quality and comply with Australian Standards.
Marquis cabinetry carries a Lifetime manufacturers warranty and proprietary items purchased by Marquis, including electrical (light fittings), hardware, bench tops and mirror glass, are not guaranteed by our company but will be subject to their manufacturer’s warranty.
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
IMPORTANT

GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q. Do you provide a warranty with your products?
A. Yes, all Marquis vanities and shaving cabinets come with a lifetime warranty that we have been standing behind for over 40 years. We take our commitment to this guarantee very seriously and will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding it. For more information visit marquis.com.au/warranty
Q. Are your products pre-made?
A. No every vanity is made to your custom order, starting the day after you have placed your order with your retailer.
Q. Are your products flat packed?
A. No every vanity comes fully assembled and ready for install by your licensed tradesperson.
Q. Where are your vanities made?
A. All of our cabinets and shavers are 100% Australian made in our factory in Taylors Beach, NSW.
Q. Is my vanity water proof?
A. No! Although the highest quality Australian moisture resistant board is used in the carcase and doors/drawers and we seal the exposed edges of the board with edge tape and paint, there is still no way to make a vanity fully waterproof. The best way to ensure your product lasts a lifetime is, if any water sprays or is spilled into or on the cabinet, simply wipe it off with a cloth so the moisture doesn’t have a chance to be absorbed by the timber.
Q. Can I change my vanity design after ordering?
A. Generally the answer is no as we begin construction on your custom vanity immediately after order but if you do need to make a change just contact your retailer and we will work with them to get you the best solution possible.
INSTALLATION QUESTIONS
Q. Does my wall mounted vanity come with mounting brackets?
A. No your tradesperson only needs to locate the studs in the wall and screw bolts through the solid back and it will stay fixed to the wall for life.
Q. Can I have my Shapes mirror mounted horizontally or vertically?
A. The entire shapes range can be mounted either horizontally or vertically simply by ensuring the split batten is positioned correctly.
Q. Can I install the product myself?
A. We recommend only a licensed tradesman who is experienced with bathroom construction be used to install our products. Products installed by an unlicensed person will not be covered by warranty in the event of an issue arising.
Q. I have found some damage on my product, can I still install it?
A. No, if you find any damage on your product please do not install it but rather contact your retailer immediately and quote them your order number and if possible take images of the labels on the vanity and of the issue so we can work to rectify it for you.
MATERIALS QUESTIONS
Q. What sort of paint do you use on the cabinets?
A. We use 2 pack polyurethane paint that can be colour matched to your specification and finished in gloss or matte texture. Polyurethane paint is a hard-wearing and highly-resistant coating used in industrial and architectural coating systems for steelwork, concrete, wood, and other substrates.
Q. What is Symphony?
A. Symphony is a modified acrylic solid surface material that is composed of resins, polymers, natural materials and is 100% silica free. Its colour runs all the way through the top and it is a sanitary grade material, meaning it is safe for use in kitchens and wet areas. It is repairable and able to be cut with standard woodworking tools unlike stone products.
Q. What is Dekton?
A. Dekton is a blend of raw and recycled materials that are subjected to extreme temperatures and pressures and then crafted into sheets of material used for benchtops and surfaces throughout the home, including the bathroom. This ultracompact surface is exceptionally hard, able to withstand 400 degrees centigrade without damage and has zero porosity making it perfect for bathroom applications. It is the material we recommend above all others for vanity top applications. Dekton is approved as 100% silica safe by Safe Work Australia
Q. What is Caesarstone?
A. Caesarstone is approved as silica safe by SafeWork Australia with less than 1% crystalline silica content as of 2024. Caesarstone is a premium quartz surface highly valued for its durability and aesthetic appeal. Crafted from mineral elements, pigments, and polymer resins, Caesarstone surfaces offer a resilient and low-maintenance option ideal for bathroom vanities. It is non-porous, which prevents staining and inhibits the growth of mould and bacteria, making it an excellent choice for both residential and commercial environments. Available in a variety of colours and finishes, Caesarstone allows for a range of design styles, from modern minimalism to traditional elegance, ensuring a perfect match for any bathroom decor.
Q. What is Vasari®?
Vasari, an Italian-manufactured large format porcelain surface, is crafted from top-quality raw materials using advanced dry compaction techniques and cured in modern ceramic kilns. Its durability makes it perfect for bathroom vanities, kitchen benches, splashbacks, and bathroom walls, offering resistance to shock, scratching, heat, and chemicals. Vasari blends style and practicality for the Australian kitchen and bathroom segment. The advantages of Vasari include being non-absorbent, stainresistant, hygienic, resistant to bending and scratching, ecologic, frost-resistant, easy to clean, chemically resistant, able to withstand high breaking loads, UV stable, and heat resistant.
Q. Where are the drawers and hinges made?
A. Our drawers are manufactured in Austria and all our hinge hardware is made in Italy, ensuring we give you the highest quality products.
SALES & CUSTOM QUESTIONS
Q. Can I get a custom vanity made to my design?
A. Yes, absolutely, we can manufacture vanities, shaving cabinets and mirrors to meet your needs and fulfil your design aspirations. These range from exact lengths to fit between walls to fully customized designs giving your bathroom a unique touch.
Q. Does my vanity come with a plug and waste?
A. No, we do not supply plumbing fittings with our products. We are purely a cabinetmaking company and we like to leave the plumbing up to the professionals. Please talk to your showroom consultant or your licensed plumber about the best fittings for your bathroom.
Q. Can I choose my own basin?
A. Yes, if you have a basin you’ve fallen in love with we can customize your vanity to suit your choice with ease. Make sure to have your basin specifications on hand when you meet with your showroom consultant. Please be aware that given the extra programming and machining requirements of using another suppliers basins the price will not reduce when using your own basins.
Q. Can I upgrade the top thickness on curved vanities?
A. Yes, however, due to the curved nature of the tops on these ranges we can only offer upgrades in 40mm thickness in the Caesarstone material. For more information please contact out customer service team.
