WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?
Since its beginnings Hotel con Corazon offered the perfect accommodation to those who were willing to pay a little more for a special, unique and memorable stay in the most attractive locations on the planet. But the new Hotel con Corazon Cambodia wants to go one step further. Without forgetting the aid for local education, we want its guests not only to visit Cambodia. We want them to feel it, live it. For this reason the resort will be a fusion of its rich culture, wild nature and modern interiors that will make them fall in love with the country.

TONE OF VOICE
HOW DO WE COMMUNICATE? Hotel con Corazon Cambodia will be called Sovanara . This has been the first step to reflect better the soul of Cambodia. Sovanara is a Cambodian or Khmer word which means “dream”. A word that perfectly reflects the spirit and values of the new resort. Besides its name, all its visual identity is also the pure reflection of the country. Both the colors chosen as the shapes and drawings for the logo are inspired by traditional elements of the culture of Cambodia.

Our main goal is to make guests feel Cambodia, to live Cambodia in its purest state. And to do this through Sovanara. As its name suggests, it will be the holidays of their dreams. In addition Sovanara is not a dream only to its guests, so it is for many children in the country. Thanks to its charity initiatives in local education, a lot of Cambodian children have the opportunity to make a future. A dream come true for themselves and their families.

THE BRAND MARK
Sovanara wants to be like a dream for their guests, but we also want to make the dreams of Cambodian children come true. We want them to give them a future. The logo is inspired by dreamcatchers, the Cambodian culture and it’s stunning art and temples.

COLOURS LOGO The logo comes in different variations of colours. The blue colour will be used as the main colour. This one will be used the most, but if nessecery the other colours can be used as well. See our colour palette for more information about these colours.

WHITE SQUARE LOGO The square logos will be used when displayed on images. The size of the white square can not be changed from the logo. They have to be resized together.

COLOUR SQUARE LOGO The colour square logos cannot be used on images and always got to have a white background. This logos can be used for print is necessary.

HOW TO APPLY OUR LOGO It is very imporant to use the logo in the right way. If you don’t it will lose its cohesion. We will explain how to use the logo and how not to use the logo. Please use these rules as precisely as described. The logo can not be smaller than 20mm on print.

HOW TO USE THE LOGO CORRECTLY The logo can be used in two ways. You can use the logo as a whole with text or only the icon. But if the title is necessary, you can not use the logo without it. For example of the business card. The icon can also be used to decorate.

There are some thing you can not do with the logo. You cannot turn the logo upside down, this is the samw with the icon. You cannot scew the logo and its forbidden to only use the text of the logo.

Because our logo has a strong blue colour, this colour will be to much when using on a big surface. When using the blue for a big surface, you can use the fill and or tint option. This will ensure the colour will be less strong and more subtle.

Our secondary colours are more soft and nature-like. But we also wanted to fresh thing up. The orange colour will do just that. It won’t show up everywhere, but it can be used for small details.

Brand Groteque is our main typeface. It is a family font with a lot of choises. This font will be used for allmost every thing. On printed products, this will be the only one you can use. It will also serve as the font for the headlines and titles online.

SUPPORTING TYPEFACES The supporting fons are less visible. Proxima Nova will be used as the webfont. This will only be used on the website. But all the headers and titles will still be in the main typeface. Uni Sans is the font used in the logo and this is the only way of using this font. It cannot be used for print and web as readable text.

HOW TO USE PICTURES
For our photos we are using three sort of different styles. This will provide variation in the photography. 1. RESORT PHOTOS We can not leave out the resort photos. Interested visitors want to know were they are going and for what they are paying. These photos have to give a good representation of the resort. 2. CULTURE & LANDSCAPE PHOTOS We do not want to drown our visitors in pictures only of the resort itself. The country is a factore not to forget. It is beautyful and it is a big part of our vison. 3. CHARITY PHOTOS We focus on charity initiatives in local education for children. If we are using this in our communication, we want photos of happy children. //. 29

HOW TO CREATE THE BLUE IMAGES

We also use images with a blue overlay to break the clean and whiteness of our look. To use this overlay you have to take the primary blue colour and play with the opacity of the colour. It cannot be to late and also not to dark. It depends on the images beneath it.

We want our brand applications to look bright, clean and fresh. To achieve this we are using the primary blue colour but not 100% full. We are using a 50% fill of the colour. This will give the applications the look and feel we want to. Our business card is very simple and elegant. We wanted to focus on the logo because the logo speaks for itself. The back of the card can be changed for different staff members. The same with the colour. The managers could have a blue card, and the cleaners a orange card for example.

The letterhead is also very simple with a lot of white and the back is 50% primary blue. This will give a full but still simple look to the letterhead. The letterhead can also have a whitebackground when you use more than one page. Name and signature can also be changed if necessary.

For the envelope we used a lot of white to keep it nice and clean. With only the necessary information on it. The back of the envelope breaks the clean look a bit more and gives it the fresh and modern look.

For the product design we tried to use a very clean and basic design, combined with the blue color as seen in our brand guidebook. We decided to use the blue logo, on white products. Like towels, menu and pillows. This can be used on other products aswell. This will provide that all the products ensure coherence.

The design of the resort is a collection of pictures for the look and feel. We tried to look for a nice contrast between the wood and the light furniture. We added slightly blue accents to make it a whole. This way the fresh style of Sovanara will be carried out. We have some example of pictures that will give you a good look at the look and feel of the resort.

The Sovanara resort website has a very simple and fresh design. Blue is the main color used, because it has a relaxing, trustworthy and fresh feel to it. We want the website to be as simple and accessible as possible, so anyone can use it. The website consists of one long page and a navigation bar. When a menu item is selected, the website will automatically scroll to the selected section. The navigation bar is located at the top of the website and will be fixed in that position. When the user scrolls down, the navigation bar will follow and resize to 50% of it’s main size. This way the menu bar will still be there but it won’t take up too much space on the screen.

The home screen of the website consists of the navigation bar and a full screen photo of the resort. The other parts of the website consist out of blocks. These blocks have a fixed width of 1440px wide. The height of the blocks is determined by the content, but some blocks have a fixed height. These are: the main title bars with a fixed height of 249px, the sliders with a fixed height of 730px (785px including the navigation bullets), the ‘image blocks’ with a fixed height of 486px and the ‘small text blocks’ with a height of 486px. The ‘small text blocks’ include a photo which takes up 50% of the width of the block.
