A SMALL TOWN Can Have Big Charm
In 1607, when Captain Christopher Newport and the first colonists who settled at Jamestown entered the Chesapeake Bay, they sighted the tip of the Eastern Shore peninsula, which they named Cape Charles. The land that is now Bay Creek was first surveyed a year later by Captain John Smith, who took note of its fertile soils and abundant marine life.
