It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural issue of Bay Creek Soundings, our new community newsletter. We’re very excited about the progress taking place at Bay Creek since Preserve Communities assumed ownership last November. This newsletter will be one of several ways we expect to communicate with you about the experiences and offerings happening in and around Bay Creek. Since hosting the webinar series last fall, we continue to receive strong support and enthusiasm from members and owners, as well as exciting interest from prospective new clients. New marketing programs and initiatives are underway and already making an impact throughout the region. For the first time in quite a while, Bay Creek, Cape Charles, and the whole of Virginia’s Cape are taking their rightful place as a highly sought after destination to live, play and thoroughly enjoy an authentic coastal lifestyle. Soundings Welcome to Soundings! continued from cover Preserve Communities and Bay Creek teams are hard at work planning and implementing several new initiatives. Most notably, we have designated 350-acres, much of which comes from the closed nine-holes of golf to serve as a permanent Nature Preserve. The land, which will forever be protected against future development, features peaceful woodlands, clear-running creeks, tranquil ponds and is naturally populated with hundreds of species of wildlife. Real estate activity at Bay Creek is poised for an exciting 2020. We plan to spend a significant amount of money to promote Bay Creek in key markets. Additionally, we are releasing a collection of new villas and highly desirable cottage homes this spring. We hope you enjoy reading through our first issue and learning in a little more detail what exciting changes are taking place. Our goal is to preserve the balance between nature and an amenity-rich lifestyle that families can treasure for generations to come.

Additionally, a thoughtfully developed ‘Base Camp’ will be introduced to act as the epicenter of the Nature Preserve. Families will enjoy a host of multi-generational activities, from camping and fishing to kayaking and paddleboarding on the scenic Plantation Creek. Other highlights include a community garden and an educational center. The Base Camp amenity will be without peer in the area—and a place for families to gather, play, learn, enjoy, and make new and lasting memories.

A Permanent Nature Preserve for Bay Creek Owners. Bay Creek is pleased to announce the placement of 350-acres inside Bay Creek into permanent conservation, ensuring some of the most spectacular land within the community will be protected from future development and will serve as a permanent Nature Preserve for our owners. To honor the authentic coastal living Bay Creek is known for, we have set aside this land for activity, exploration and preservation. We are partnering with Avid TrailsŽ, one of America’s top trail companies, to design and implement walking and biking trails and activity stations throughout the Preserve. The Preserve will encompass peaceful woodlands, traversed by clear running creeks and tranquil ponds, naturally populated with hundreds of species of wildlife. Natural coves along the shoreline can host morning yoga or sunset get togethers. Base Camp, located adjacent to the Nature Preserve is where members will enjoy a host of multi-generational activities, from camping and fishing, to kayaking and paddleboarding on scenic Old Plantation Creek. Base Camp will also be home to Bay Creek’s community garden and a very special Arts Center.

Inquiries and information requests shattered records—and it has been an absolute pleasure to have an overabundance of excited new prospects for ownership and membership at Bay Creek.

Why more interest than ever before? Here’s what they’re telling us:

People are loving the new products we’re introducing. They are the right size and right price and that’s hitting a sweet spot for a large number of families.

Dynamic, new family-oriented amenities.

The word is out about the newly designated 350-acre nature preserve in Bay Creek.
