Match reports: 24.11.12 Playing the top team, who haven’t lost a game, with 10 players was going to be a challenge to say the least!! Again we only had 10 boys, with no goalkeeper, due to holidays and sickness. Jamie Whitehead volunteered to play in goal, From the first whistle the boys meant business, they battled for every ball, the boys in midfield Harrison, Amza, Deen and Joe worked well together using the width of the pitch when they could, put some lovely balls forward for Emmerson who worked hard to stay onside against an organised defence. Our defence of Peter, Andrew, Matthew Roylance and Matthew Greenwood played outstandingly covering for each other and ensuring that Jamie had little to do, except face a penalty in the first half, which he says he pushed wide. The deadlock was broken when Peter pushed forward into their box and forced a hand ball giving us a penalty opportunity. Harrison stood forward and confidently struck the ball into the back of the net. The game was a fabulous one to watch and the spirit of the boys brought tears of pride to a few mums eyes. 17.11.12 Cup game against a team in the league above was always going to be a tough ask, but the boys started well, a goal from Amza put us in front, but they equalised before half time with a goal from a very acute angle . The second half started disappointingly with 2 quick goals for them taken from outside the box, nothing that Luke could do to stop them. Jamie scored to bring it back to 3 2 but they took advantage of a mistake and made it 4 2. The boys did play well and should be proud of their performance, Jackson Kelly had another excellent game in defence. 03.11.12 With new players Amza and Aiden added to the squad, we are starting to play lovely passing football, with the occasional mistakes, Luke in goal pulled off some fabulous saves and goals from Emmerson, Matthew Poole Amza and Jamie ensures a 4 3 victory 13.10 12 This was a tough physical game, Harrsion was all over the midfield trying to make things happen, we had chances but could only manage to score 1. The opposition took their chances from the outside scoring 3 and then a penalty. 06.10.12 Our first game of the season in our new league was away against Whitworth Valley, unfortunately due to illness we only had 10 players. We started well with Jamie scoring in the first few minutes. The game ended 3 each, with Jamie adding another goal and Peter Winyard also scoring. The 10 boys played very well especially Matthew Poole and Jackson Kelly
