This is a great plan for the student that wants to dine on campus regularly and enjoy more specialty items, including convenience items from Paws & Go or Millbrook Market, sushi and poke bowls from Stanley’s, or fine dining from Ibby’s.
Not only is the Platinum Meal Plan the best value, but it also comes with perks! Coffee Club Membership: Enjoy free hot coffee and tea across campus with this Coffee Club Card! Over a $50 value each semester, this is a great deal for students that drink coffee or tea daily.

Washington University Dining Services succeeds when each student picks the meal plan that best fits their own unique wellness and nutritional needs. A plan should neither leave a student with too many points at the end of the year—nor not enough to keep them energized, restful, and mentally healthy.
Gold POINTS: 2,547 PRICE: $3,351*
The Gold Plan allows flexibility for a student when shopping and dining on the Danforth Campus. This plan will cover approximately 12 meals per week. The Gold Plan allows for students to build well-balanced, appetizing meals while still leaving room for exploration across campus, including pastries from Cherry Tree Café, wraps and soups from Law Café, and specialty paninis from our awardwinning Parkside Café.
Silver POINTS: 2,077 PRICE: $2,886*
The Silver Plan is a great starting point for first-year students to enjoy great food, socialize, and build lasting friendships within the Danforth Campus. This plan will cover approximately 10 meals per week. The Silver Plan is a good fit for students that plan to eat at our big three locations: Bear’s Den on the South40, the DUC, and the Village Café, but also want to venture off-campus on the weekends to check out the St. Louis food scene.

Ask Us Anything! How do I know which meal plan I should buy? College Students lead active lifestyles and our meal plans are designed to fit around your busy schedules. The Platinum meal plan is designed to provide the best value and allow you to purchase meals, as well as some of the many other great options we have available on campus.
Do meal points roll-over?
This Apartment Plan is intended for students who primarily shop and prepare most meals for themselves. Students on the Apartment Plan typically use their points for drinks at our cafés, snacks for studying, or to purchase groceries for their meals from Millbrook Market or Paws & Go.
Unused meal points will roll over from Fall semester to Spring semester; however, you are still required to purchase a new meal plan for the spring. At the end of the Spring semester, any unused meal points are forfeited. During the Spring semester, you will have opportunities to purchase items in bulk, transfer meal points to other students, or assist us in aiding the Food Security Fund.
Off-Campus POINTS: 435
How do the WashU meal plans work?
The Off-Campus Plan is intended for students who eat most of their meals off-campus. This plan is the minimum for students living off-campus, and allows students to purchase coffee, tea, light snacks, or grab the occasional meal on-campus with friends.
Meal Plans at WashU are different than most universities. Our meal plans are 100% declining balance meal points. All of our dining centers on campus are a-lacarte so you are only paying for the food you eat. All of our dining centers display the price for each item so you know exactly how much you will be paying for each meal.
PRICE: $675*
For more information, please visit DiningServices.wustl.edu
Where and when can I use my meal points?
How do I know how many points I have left?
You can use your meal points at any location on campus operated by WashU Dining Services. There is no restriction on when, where, and how many points you can use at one time. See map on pg. 14-15 for Dining Locations or visit our website at diningservices.wustl.edu.
You can check your meal point balance at any time by logging into WebSTAC. You can also request a receipt any time you make a purchase and your balance will be displayed on your receipt.
Are there any meal plan restrictions on where I can eat? How many meals per week will I be able to eat with my plan? A declining balance meal plan does not provide a set number of meals per week. Instead, you receive a set amount of meal points at the beginning of the semester to spend. The number of meals this will get you depends on your specific eating habits and the type of food you like to eat. Larger meal plans will provide you with more meal points to start the semester. The Platinum Meal Plan is the best value providing more meals and snacks to enjoy all over campus!
Meal plans are only valid at Dining Services campus locations. See the map on the following pages for details!
Can I use my meal points off-campus? No. Meal points are designed to be only used on campus in locations operated by WashU Dining Services. Many local businesses have an agreement with WashU to accept Bear Bucks as a method of payment.
How do I access my meal plan? What do I do if I run out of meal points? If you run out of meal points, WashU has Bear Bucks available that you can load to your student account at any time. Bear Bucks can be used in the dining halls just like meal points.
Your meal plan is loaded onto your student ID. You only need to carry one card with you on campus. This card will give you access to buildings and your meal plan, as well as your Bear Bucks account.

Redefining Healthy The definition of healthy varies from person to person, especially when it comes to food and nutrition. Each person’s meaning of healthy is based on their individual needs and preferences. We encourage our students to craft their own definition of healthy, considering these questions:
» What nutrients do you need to sustain your energy and needs? » What is feasible, necessary, enjoyable, and sustainable for you? » What makes you feel good, satisfying both your body and mind?
Our Nutrition Principles There is no “one size fits all” nutrition plan. Your nutrition needs are unique to you! 1. Aim to incorporate regular meals and snacks, approximately every ~3 hours. Eating regularly throughout the day can maintain your mental and physical energy. 2. Try to include a variety of foods at each meal and snack. Selecting protein-rich entrees, with sides of vegetables and fiber-rich carbohydrates provides complex nutrients which keeps us feeling mentally and physically energized throughout the day. 3. A gentle nutrition plan can help you achieve your health goals without being “perfect” with your food choices. Try to remember that there is no such thing as bad foods, and we encourage you to remove this language from your vocabulary. 08
Food Allergies & Intolerances To ensure the safety of our students, our staff is FARECheck Trained. Our Top 9 Allergy-Friendly Stations offer meals made without the top 9 allergens and are prepared in a designated kitchen space. Find the Top 9 Allergy Friendly Stations at our three main dining halls: Bear’s Den, the DUC, and the Village. For students with more attentive allergy needs, our Simply Made menus are available on GrubHub. Students must meet with our Nutrition Team to qualify to order from the Simply Made menu. We do not use peanuts & treenuts in the production of food on campus, excluding our bakery and some pre-packaged items. Allergen icons can be found on menus throughout campus. Nutrition information, ingredients, and allergens can be found on our dining website under menus.
Indicates an item may contain any of the allergens listed above. 09
Nutrition & Dietary Consultations We encourage students with nutrition and dietary needs to work directly with our dietitians. Our team can help you navigate the dining halls. We highly recommend setting up a 1:1 consultation with one of our dietitians if you:
» Have a food allergy or food intolerance » Have an active eating disorder or have a history of eating disorders/ disordered eating » Are a student athlete » Have a medical diagnosis which may affect your nutritional needs
Other Dietary Needs & Preferences Vegetarian and Vegan options are available throughout campus, including bakery treats and grab & go items. You can find vegetarian or vegan meals at every station at the Bear’s Den, the DUC, and Village. Kosher meals are available in our Grab & Go coolers and our designated Kosher station, L’Chaim, in the Bear’s Den for lunch and dinner. Hot Kosher meals are also available at Parkside and the Law Café for lunch. We partner with a local Kosher deli for weekend dining. WashU Hillel and Chabad also have opportunities for Shabbat meals. Our WUFusion station in the Bear’s Den serves certified American Halal meats for both lunch and dinner daily. Halal pre-packaged grab & go meals can be found in our markets. You can also find Halal meals available throughout campus at other dining locations throughout the week. Bear Balanced meals include lean proteins, heart-healthy fats, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Build your own Bear Balanced meal by choosing a protein-rich entree including vegetables and fiber-rich carbohydrates. Look for the following dietary icons on the menu:
Connect With Us For questions or to schedule a 1:1 consultation, email diningservices@wustl.edu. For more thoughts from our dietitians, follow us at @twistednutrition on Instagram! 10

Food Security Fund The Food Security Fund was established by Washington University’s Dining Services in partnership with Student Financial Services to ensure all students have access to adequate quality, nutritious foods on campus. The Food Security Fund was created to address potential food insecurity on campus and provide to those seeking financial assistance for food.
Requesting Assistance Undergraduate students that run out of meal points and are in need of financial assistance for food are encouraged to complete a brief questionnaire by scanning this QR code: To speak to a Student Accounting Representative: Call: (314) 935-5274 Toll free: (800) 758-0050 Email: Student.Billing@wustl.edu
Distributing the Food Security Fund Meal points are awarded to students based on financial need as determined by Financial Services. Meal points are discretely loaded to the student’s meal point account and can be used at all dining locations immediately.
Giving Back At the end of each semester, students can give back in two ways: » Transfer meal points directly to the Food Security Fund. Students have the opportunity to transfer up to 50 meal points to the fund at the end of each semester. » Use meal points to purchase non-perishable foods for donation to a local food bank. FEED THE

Sustainability Our goal is to have the most sustainable dining operation through partnering with local farmers and Fresh Thyme, converting fryer oil to biodiesel with Rockwood Summit High, and composting...just to name a few! We COOK OUR MEALS FROM SCRATCH, using any leftover ingredients in new dishes. We WORK WITH LOCAL FARMS who can give us animal welfare certifications, instead of huge factories. We are proud of our WORK WITH THE MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM and their Seafood Watch program to ensure we provide sustainably sourced seafood options. We work with our sustainability office to PROMOTE REUSABLE TO GO CONTAINERS AND CUPS instead of single use packaging, like plastic water bottles. Our PLANT-FORWARD MENUS also offer an exciting and delicious path towards sustainability. Try out a Green Monday, where you don’t eat any meat for at least one day of the week. You’ll be surprised at how tasty it can be. When we do use meat, it is part of a well-balanced meal, rather than the only focus of the dish. All our sustainability efforts can be categorized as SMART GOALS (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound). This ensures that we have a direct way of determining our targets, implementing new ideas, and measuring success. Doing so makes it easier to keep up with new and exciting sustainability campaigns all over campus.

We proudly feature our new local partner Coffeestamp at Grounds For Change! Hailing from Honduras—they bring quality coffee to St. Louis and deliver the stamp of it being ethically sourced and provided. In addition to the delicious coffee beverages, Grounds For Change will also feature Coffeestamp’s famous empanadas. Coffeestamp was created by brothers Patrick and Spencer Clapp in 2018 as a micro-roastery. It has since grown to a full service coffee bar in the Fox Park neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri.
Our mission is simple—deliver the most delicious coffee possible. To do this, we source only the finest coffee beans from around the world. We believe coffee can be roasted in countless ways that make it worthy of writing home about, but we know it can fail every time if the coffee bean wasn’t grown and picked with love. 28
Local Partnerships Propel Kitchens WashU Dining has partnered with Propel Kitchens, a St. Louis non-profit organization. Propel Kitchen’s mission is to utilize nutrition, food industry training, and education initiatives as tools to equip and enable St. Louis residents and communities to combat persistent economic and health inequities. We’ve partnered with Propel Kitchens to prepare fresh, affordable, and made-from-scratch commissary items, including marinara sauce, salad dressings, and soups.

The Bite of St. Louis The Bite of St. Louis program brings local restaurants to our dining locations on campus, allowing students to experience the signature tastes of STL without leaving WashU! Each week we bring in a local restaurant and students can use their meal plan to purchase a meal. WashU is committed to supporting local business and is looking forward to a continued collaboration. 29
