To make prescription medications affordable to all, especially the uninsured and und erinsured, while using only the highest standards and ethics in the discount prescri ption drug card field.
Discount Drug Card Association NY ADDCO Members must all hold the highestrating with the Better Busines s Bureau (BBB). ADDCO may promulgate rules and procedures interpreting and applying the code of conduct, including procedures for suspending or terminating membership in ADDC O as a result of non-compliance with the code of conduct. Program operators and independent representatives must maintain records sufficient to demonstrate co mpliance with the code of conduct, including any applicable rules and procedure s promulgated by ADDCO. Program operators and independent representatives must cooperate with any ADDCO review for compliance with this code of conduct.
Discount Drug Card Association CA Customer service to the discount drug card user must be helpful, knowledgeable and the customer service center must be trained in the field of discount drug c ard usage. All advertising, solicitation, and marketing materials of a discount drug card pro gram must clearly and conspicuously state that the discount drug card program is n ot insurance or a qualified plan under the Affordable Care Act.

ADDCO members must use a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) that does not unfair ly alter collection fees to the pharmacy to the detriment of the consumers e nd price. Medicine Take-Back ProgramsMedicine take-back programs for disposal are a good wa y to remove expired, unwanted, or unused medicines from the home and reduce the c hance that others may accidentally take the medicine. Contact your city or county government's household trash and recycling service to see if there is a medicine take-back program in your community and learn about any special rules regarding which medicines can be taken back. You can also talk to your pharmacist to see if he or she knows of other medicine disposal programs in your area or visit the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration's website for information on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Events.
Association of Discount Drug Card Organiza tions Disposal in Household TrashIf no medicine take-back program is available in your area, you can also follow these simple steps to dispose of most medicines in the household trash:1 Mix medicines (do NOT crush tablets or capsules) with an unpalatable substance suc h as kitty litter or used coffee grounds;Place the mixture in a container such as a sealed plastic bag; andThrow the container in your household trash.Before throwi ng out your empty pill bottle or other empty medicine packaging, remember to scrat ch out all information on the prescription label to make it unreadable.
Discount RX Card Association As discount drug card program membership grows, and as discount drug card progra ms play an ever more important role in providing consumers access to affordable prescription medications in the country, it is appropriate for discount drug car d program operators and marketers to adopt voluntary standards that establish ap propriate levels of consumer protection and program integrity, and that promote fair competition among discount drug card programs.Towards those ends, the Assoc iation of Discount Drug Card Organizations (ADDCO) and its members hereby establ ish this code of conduct.
