Front of House Internship Theatre Department Commencing April Monday to Friday Daytime Shakespeare’s Globe is looking for a motivated individual who is eager to experience a theatre environment. The internship is administrative and is designed to support the busy Front of House. The FoH team consists of a House Manager, Deputy House Manager and Stewards Co-ordinator, together with three seasonal Duty Managers. The FoH team works to co-ordinate a pool of over 500 volunteer stewards, who form a key part of the FOH operation during the season. The internship will cover a wide range of activities, ranging from schools liaison to database work, gaining an insight into the operational and administrative needs of the Department. Responsibilities: To support the team in the day to day running of the FoH department with particular emphasis on: Pre-performance set up on Matinees; Preparation of the Stewards Room for performances; General assistance for Stewards - expenses & security passes; Monitoring and greeting large school groups as required Assisting with event planning & activities for Stewards during the theatre season Monitoring programme stocks and assisting with placing orders as required. Personal Profile: A theatre background is not essential, but a proactive, responsible approach & a keen interest in theatre are key requisites, as are: Good literacy and basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. Attention to detail. The ability to respect confidentiality. A Flexible approach together with strong people skills. Shakespespeare’s Globe is open Monday to Sunday with 13 shows a week. This internship will operate from Monday to Friday.
