Marketing & Press (Touring) Executive Producer

Overall Purpose The role of the Marketing and Press (Touring) position is to lead the marketing and press of the Globe’s ‘small scale tours’ of Hamlet and As You Like It in 2012. The post will liaise with tour venues to promote the productions, generate audiences and maximise income from ticket sales and will be supported by the Globe’s Theatre and Communications team.

The Globe’s award-winning summer tours have quickly established themselves as part of the national theatre scene; playing in venues from fields to castles, international festivals to stately homes, they offer audiences nationally and abroad the chance to see Shakespeare on the road for reasonable prices but at the highest quality.

The post requires someone with a high level of initiative, good working knowledge of theatre promotions (particularly on small budgets and/or outside London), a good instinct for planning campaigns, who can work efficiently and prioritise workloads to deadlines.

To be the point of contact with venues for all press & marketing for the tours Provide copy and other marketing collateral to venues, proof and approve brochure entries and all other items.

Devise and implement marketing and press campaigns with each venue Advise and guide venues on campaigns Research into appropriate advertising and promotional opportunities Management of tour marketing budget Creation and distribution of press releases to venues Co-ordinate press requests, interview and competitions Work alongside Digital team to ensure online and social networking profile for the tours.

Liaison with Globe and venues’ box office/sales teams Collation of weekly sales figures Run weekly meetings with Globe Communications and Theatre team To be flexible and adaptable in the undertaking of any other duties as required.

Person Specification Essential

At least 2 years experience of working in press or marketing in a theatre or arts touring context Demonstrable experience of devising or running marketing and/or press campaigns Excellent verbal and written communication skills Eye for detail Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to tight deadlines Self motivated yet good team player Ability to manage own time Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

Experience of monitoring budgets and costs Demonstrable experience of liaising and managing day to day relations with external suppliers/contacts.

Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel & Word

Recruitment Information and Terms and Conditions Full Time / Fixed Term Appointment – 6 Month Duration.

[A full set of terms and conditions will be supplied with a contract of employment] Hours:

40 hours per week (inclusive of lunch breaks). Additional hours at evenings and weekends, and travel/overnight stays away from London to venues, may be required for which time in lieu will be granted. There are no extra payments for additional hours worked but reasonable expenses will be considered.

Salary:

circa £22,000 per annum pro rata.

Holiday:

The annual holiday leave is pro rata of 25 days per calendar year plus Bank Holidays.
