FUNDRAISING INTERNSHIP April – June 2011 Shakespeare's Globe is an educational charity, dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work in performance, and a broader understanding of both the theatre for which he wrote and the society in which he lived. The Globe has an annual turnover approaching £15 million, but receives no annual funding from core government sources. Working within the Globe’s Development department, the Fundraising internship will give you a broad understanding of arts fundraising. You will spend time working with each area of the Development department: capital campaign, corporate, trusts & foundations and Friends & Patrons. An example of internship duties:  Updating our database with supporter information  Assisting with correspondence  Event ticketing and administration  Research funding opportunities for corporate, capital and revenue needs  Copy writing for in-house publications and website  Administration of Gentlemen’s Rooms/ Corporate hospitality (includes some evenings)  Answering queries in the Friends & Patrons department Personal requirements:  Competent use of Microsoft Office programmes  An interest in arts management/fundraising  Good telephone manner  Fluent written and spoken English  A commitment of three days per week for three months
