Where we live

Welcome

Welcome

Meads End is a cosy and comfortable home based on the Eastbourne coast in East Sussex. We overlook the beach and the sea, are at the foot of the South Downs National Park and a short walk to Beachy Head. We are situated just across the road from the Prep School.

Meads End has a large common room with a kitchen room and dining room attached. This is the heart of the house where most of our boarders relax in the evening.

The smaller common room, the ‘Snug’ is where boarders can do their homework, play computer games and relax.

We have a lovely garden at Meads End, where boarders can play and enjoy time outside. There is a large lawn, flower beds and several fruit trees which the boarders planted themselves.

When I was told I was coming to Bede’s, I was very excited. But I would have never imagined all the experiences I’m living. Boarding is not just meeting lots of new people and, for foreign students, learning English. You get used to a routine, both school days and weekends, and I don’t even have time to feel homesick. This is definitely an amazing experience that I will never forget and I would recommend it to anyone.
