GINA JOINS US

The Sixth Form was excited to recently host Gina Miller, activist and founder of the True and Fair campaign In total there were just under 90 students in attendance.

I have to say, it was a huge success! In the end we ran out of time for questions as students had asked sooooo many, it was wonderful to see. Some students even started firing sensitive but crucial questions leading to political debate, again amazing to see from our students.

A massive thank you for all your help in making today a wonderful experience! Gina enjoyed it, posting the following on her Twitter account: Spent a great day in Bedford Fantastic room full of engaged students at @thebedfordsixth

- lots of thoughtful questions, energy & engagement. They get to the point!

NICE TO SEE YOU!

I recently invited two of my students back here, so they could pass on any tips to those in First or Second Year. Connie Coyle and Bella Grassi, whom I had the utmost pleasure of teaching Spanish and French for two years, recently met with my current students who were interested in finding more about studying foreign languages at university, plus learning about life at university in general. Connie is studying at Leicester University and Bella is studying at Portsmouth University. Connie and Bella both stressed that although university is a fun place to learn, students have to do lots of independent learning, in addition to the classes they attend…a bit like the life of an A Level student, no?

So, to all the class of 2021 and 2022, keep up with your studies at TBSF and outside, and you too can have a great time at university.

The Forensic Science Crime Scene

IT'S A MYSTERY! DATES FOR YOUR DIARIES….

Roadshow was organised at BSF recently in coordination with The University of Bedfordshire. The event was aimed at providing students from various streams with an opportunity to examine, collect, and photograph evidence of a crime scene.

I am pleased to report that the event was a great success The students enjoyed and learned from it, and we received positive feedback from attendees. I believe that this event has helped us achieve our objective of promoting forensic science among students and a broader audience.
